This cozy, medium-sized brewpub with the brewery in the cellar is located close to the main church in town, and not more than 5-6 minutes walk from the train station. Their range of six well-kept cask ales are supported by a few kegs and bottles. A sample tray of three beers are available in one-third pint measures.. Excellent and welcome service. On our stay there was great music in the back from Style Counsil, Jam, and Undertones. (Visited with Finn 12.11.2021).

Have seen this public house brewery change over the last forty years Positioned just outside the town centre it has both casual visitors and regular visitors Whilst not the biggest of venues it has a great atmosphere can be bit clicky on a Sunday afternoon I have had good at this venue but it’s the ale I go for Gunners daughter will be their flagship ale and the bitter is also very good Selection varies week to week and usually local ales are sourced My last visit mauldons has two beers on tap

Stopped in on a Friday night and it was pretty packed with an event. After waiting a bit to get my first beer, was able to sneak into a quiet room towards the back. Was able to try 4 of their beers and with beers to go option grabbed a few more not on tap. Need to get back for some food.

Nice spot, half way between the centre and the train station. This visit was a Thursday lunchtime and only a few others in. 4 Old Cannon beers on tap, plus 10 other cask/keg beers of limited interest. Bottles and take out beers available. Food also available and is generally a strong focus though no one in today seemed to be there for the food. Very pleasant service. Taster board of 3 x 3rds available for £3.45. Their beers were ok but not as good as I recall on previous visits a few years ago. That said, still one of Bury's highlights and it's the best brewery in town!

Visited on 4th June 2017. Large brewpub in a nice residential square around 10 mins from the station. Pretty smart interior, very light with the brew kit features, there a focus on dining and seemed popular with the locals. Beer range was decent enough with a good mix of real ale including 4 of their own. A tasting flight is offered. Service was decent, prices good and quality of beer decent. Not a bad venue.

Bright and convivial brewpub in town. Smart café/bistro look as opposed to well-worn pub or hipster paradise. The beer is solid - not exciting mind, but solid - although the selection is pretty low. Three Old Cannon beers (two of which I’d had before) sit beside Adnams Southwold and Wherry. Some of the keg choices - Köstritser Kellerbier and Calvor’s 3.8 lager - are interesting if not imminently tickable. I’m not sure why more of the beers aren’t available, especially in bottle form: you can buy gift sets but I didn’t see any chilled. It feels a bit like brewing beer is secondary to the operation as opposed to the main focus, which is a shame although the business model seems to be working.

Brew their own beer on the premises , but at times during day, you feel food is the main priority. The beer is great

Long established brewpub with decent beers. The brewing kit is right in the pub. Pleasant pub with an open, airy feel. Can be quite food-oruiented at certain times but always OK for just a drink. Expect to find three Old Cannon beers, Adnams Bitter and three or so guests. Certainly worth a visit, if not a detour.
