18 The only place in this part of town that was open on our visit to Buxton but this meant that it was packed on a Monday lunchtime. No Real Ales on sale and for some reason the place smelled of raw sewage. Virtually impossible to get in to see what was available without signing in, the hand out menu was only really for food. Friendly staff but not my type of place, more like a Hungry Horse type restaurant. |
62 This place is just across from the Opera House, so you should pass it on the way to Buxton. I actually came here to check on the Buxton’s beers, since the Buxton’s wifi wasn’t working well. But I also found a black IPA I hadn’t had. Seems a bit like a Weatherspoons, rather generic and chainy, lots of TVs blasting. 6 casks on offer, which wasn’t bad. Young staff were happy to give out samples. Food looked good as it pased by. Worth a quick look. |
