76 Parking is near by, tall ceilings, old time feel which is nice. Beers were good, meant to pair with food. I liked the burgers we had. Staff very young on our side of the restaurant but friendly. Stouts variations very plentiful. |
76 Big restaurant area with a long bar on the brewery side. Good service. The wings were great. The 4 beers I had were all very good. I'd come back for sure. |
70 Nice comfortable brewpub with some decent brews and pretty good food. Had a couple good stouts, a good cream ale and a decent IPA.
Worth a stop if you have already hit the big boys in town, waiter said a lot of folks eat there on the way to the big beer destinations. |
66 When I worked over at Pharmacia & Upjohn (1999) I visited the place for lunch a couple of times. Fast service and food.
Was there some eavnings checking the beer and was not the best in town but OK. |
70 Restaurant vibe on the inside with a bar area towards the middle. Small selection of in-house beers. Decent stuff. Nothing excellent, but solid. Food was pretty good, too, & the service was fine. Priced pretty well. Don’t go out of your way strictly for this place, but it’s around the corner from Bell’s. So if you’re at Bell’s, it’s worth it to stop in for a few if you’ve never been. |

62 Olde Peninsula is going downhill. You can feel it in the air there. The service used to be top notch, and while it is still good, it is no longer exceptional. The beer selection still remains good. They only serve the beers that are brewed at Olde Peninsula, but they make some decent beers and even some specialty beers occasionally. The food has seen the greatest decline. This was one of my favorite places in Kalamazoo to eat, but the last few times I’ve been in I don’t even recognize the food. The BeerBQ Pizza used to be phenomenal with a thick fluffy crust is now made on a cracker crust. The beer is still a decent value, but the food is not. I cannot express the disappointment in having a place that used to be amazing see such a rapid decline. |
64 stoped by on a business trip. had never had any of there beers and was pleasently surprised. the count stoutula rocked! the rootbeer was excelent also |
80 I’ve been drinking OP’s beers since Gonzo used to brew there, and have been enjoying this place ever since. Their brewer (Dan) is a really nice guy and cranks out very good brews. The staff are friendly and the food is good too. I love me some OP! |
62 Kind of crowded during the weekends but the wait is never significant for an average size party. Menu has some Kalamazoo staples (brewpub dip is a must for regulars and out of towners alike) and really above average meal offerings at a reasonable price. This place really stands out for Dan Kiplinger’s brews. Having been to many similar brewpubs around Michigan (those that do not distribute outside) I can say OP’s beer offerings are rock solid examples of each respective category, both year-round offerings and seasonal specialties. Haymarket Cream Ale, Midnight stout, Pumpkin ale, whatever you choose you cant go wrong. |
