Visited 20/11/2019. As a place to pop into for a beer and a bite to eat, this is a decent place. Add to that an excellent gig venue upstairs and it becomes even better. Beer range is alright, bit commercial but still quite decent, but it’s a really nice setting in the former Hackney railway station building, with very good service. Upstairs in the gig venue there’s certainly better than average availability than at most venues. Good place.

Very nice modern bar and restaurant. Friendly and efficient service, good food. Beer selection okay but not that impressive. Perfect spot if you are in the area and want to eat and have a good beer.

Sandwiched between the railway arches and the walkway up to the Eastbound platform of Hackney Central station, this is a modern looking cocktail bar with a small patio area out front. They do cater for beer drinkers with some cask pumps, but mainly several keg ales backed up by a small bottle selection. Unfortunately service was slow as both members of staff behind the bar took an age to make whatever cocktails that had been ordered before me. Crate Brewery seem to have permanent presence in the selection here and no cask pumps were in use on my visit.

A pretty solid venue. Great ambiance, fairly trendy. I’ve eaten here and the food is very good. Pretty good value, efficient and friendly service. Nice assortment of beers, although nothing too crazy - a hard-ticking beer geek might not find a new scoop. But if you’re looking to neck a few pints of Gamma Ray with a burger before heading to a gig, then this is a good place for you. (The top floor of this place is a music venue, and they get some pretty good acts.)

Visited on 1st January 2015. Brand new place on the corner as you head down the ramp from Hackney Central station, you can look in and see what’s on. Large single room, club upstairs, 3 handpulls and taps with nothing listed on them. Chalkboard top left has the draft kegs on so a little annoying. Service was OK, beer decent, not too badly priced. Only stopped in as the Cock Tavern was shut *sigh*. Not sure I’ll be rushing back but really handy for a beer.
