Popular cafe/bar due to its location right on Nanluoguxiang. There’s two unremarkable house brews available by an undisclosed brewery. Fridges have a selection but nothing of note when I was there. Service was slow pace. Other than the house beer ticks there’s no reason to stop by beer wise. Best to hit Great Leap a short walk away.

Was hoping to get some Tipsy Face beer here but the only beer available was a dunked and a pils both of unknown origin and both very mediocre, some beers in the fridges but nothing of interest really. Staff uninterested unless I wanted to eat from the menu that was thrust upon me on sitting down. next time I shall ’Pass By’

Seems to be older sibling to NBeerPub. Less trendy and more worn. Above all with less interesting beers. There’s a fridge full of imports, plus the odd local. On tap they have 2 German style beers, locally brewed by an unkbown brewer. The taps from Tipsy Face were all dry. Food seemed more interesting here than on most Beijing beer locations, as they offered a wide variety of dishes. My Gong Bao Pizza was however more interesting on concept level than in real life. Service was friendly, albeit not super fast and we with somewhat limited knowledge in foreign languages.

Found this place on my last day in China as I passed by it, hence the name. Really wish I found this place a couple weeks earlier because this was the type of bar I really wanted to find in China. Ambiance was awesome, little run down, plants seemingly growing everywhere, strange stuff on the walls. Typical hutong type place, hectic and strangely laid out. A real dive type place. Exactly what I love. Place had 5-6 taps of a few Chinese micros and 100-200 bottles or so. Seemed like bottles were tucked away everywhere, they said they had 180ish bottles. Bottles were a wide range of stuff from all over the world. Food was good, offered a good range of western with a little Chinese as well. Prices were about what you would expect, but a little less. This place is pretty close to Great Leap Brewing, so it should be easy to hit both in one go. If you can only hit one. Make it Pass By Bar, by far the best place for beer in China I found.

This is a good Beijing bar but the service is rather ignorant and the food is quit boring. The selection is good blot a little expensive

One of the original beer bars in China...a classic! Great ambiance! I’ve been visiting here for over 10 years after I accidently stumbled into the place (used to be a time when that was the only way you could find it...hence the name). The owner "Xiaobiar" is a great host (easy to recognize with his big smile, shaven head, and large glasses). The glass cases hold some very hard to find craft brews for China. On my last visit we shared some very rare beers from some of his world beer tours...which led to his visiting me in the US for the same purpose. Although Xiaobiar and I share little common language...the beer always speaks for itself when I visit. Also check out the great T-shirts that he designs the graphics for...nice designs & much higher quality than what I normally find while traveling in China.
