80 Right next to Idletyme, Alchemist visible a block away; crazy beer density for such a tiny town. Plenty of off-street lot parking. Not busy mid-afternoon on a Wednesday. Beer list on the wall behind the bar, solid selection including a couple HF beers. Excellent Pizzas indeed. Beers available as full or half pours, which helps. I ticked a couple new ones and had a nice pizza. Good chit. |
76 Finally need to say something about this awesome pizzeria. Their pizza is excellent and with Focal Banger and Heady kept in cans pretty much at all times, what’s not to love. Guessing their beer guy can probably walk to The Alchemist if he/she wanted to. Also, if you get bored with this place, just walk to Idletyme. |
80 Good place to stop by in Stowe to grab some tasty pizza and try some local beers and ciders. Prices are fair and they usually have some Heady Topper readily available. |
88 Nice pizza place with cool art on the wall. The pizza we ate was amazing. I was pleased with the tap list, but don’t expect lots of variety; I recall 2 lagers, 1 cider, and the rest were IPAs. If you like IPAs and pizza (and you should), go here. |
62 Busy cool looking restaurant/pizza shop. Service was below average for Vermont. Very touristy, expect to wait in line to be seated. Pizzas were good , not great. Beers served in shaker glasses, rather a bot too cold as well. They do offer solid lineup. |
78 Lunch after visiting HF. Very tasty pizza options, quick to go slice counter if you are in a hurry, about 8-10 taps with a nice local cider and other VT goodies. Good service, open atmosphere, close to some other places and if you are in Stowe and feel like pizza worth stopping in at. |
84 Stopped for lunch before heading to Hill Farmstead. Awesome pizza and a pretty nice tap list as well. Definitely one of the top places in stowe. |
80 A good selection of solid beers, many vt local beers. And the food was quite good as well. Worthy stop if in Stowe! |
78 When I visited: Late May 2013.
What I had: Alchemist Heady Topper out of the can, Insalata Mista salad, The Leonardo Pie, Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc for the Mrs.
What I liked: Spacious and attractive interior resembles a newly-built country club, service was amicable and attentive, we enjoyed the privacy of our two-seater booth by the window, pizza and salad were delicious (you can tell they use fresh ingredients), prices are fair, solid beer and wine options with local crafters Lost Nation, Hill Farmstead, Switchback, and Long Trail represented on the tap list.
What I disliked: The draught menu doesn’t compare to the top beer pubs in Waterbury, and the styles are a little redundant (lots of amber ales), but I was still impressed with most of the selections.
Would I go back? Yes.

80 Visited during weekend trip. With the nice weather we were able to sit out back on the small porch and enjoy the end of the day. Good local beer list with offerings from Alchemist, Trapp, Fiddleheads, Rock Art, Long Trail and other notables. Nothing on from Hill Farmstead or Lawson’s for my visit. The Hill had kicked earlier in the day. Food was great, had the pizza. |
