58 On Belehradska 1.5km south of Narodni Muzeum. Eight brown wooden tables, beches and heavy solid chairs. Beautiful paintings hei n walls. One with the castle. Fabian beers. So far cash works better. Typical nalevarna. Nice. |
78 Amazing small bar in a side street near Námestí Republiky. Three beers on tap, in good conditions when I was there. Friendly service. English is spoken. During my visit they were broadcasting Serie A and Ligue1 games, so if you are into football, def a place to visit.

72 Medium sized one room pub with heavy wood furniture and tiles on the floor. Bar is located in one corner of the room. They had 3 taps of Hostomice pod Brdy beers which were in very good condition and true representatives of the respective styles. Nothing bad with the service just not sure English is spoken here. Not much of a ticker heaven, but a very good stop for quality Czech beers. |
72 The Soukenická Hostomice outlet grew to be one of everyone's favorite shitholeish but not quite places in town. The raunchy tiny bar with randomly (un)friendly service got its huge reputation for being a wonderfully autochthonous island of fantastic lager for cheap in the city center.
And now there's two. A minute's walk from the Nuselské schody (trams 1, 6, 11, 16, 25...), in that island of Vinohrady just before Nusle, U trí hrušek seemed to be a classic old school Czech pub/restaurant that carried the Kozel sign even last year, and now it's been hostomicized, making it an excellent stop for everyone.
33 I think for a big 10° in excellent shape, maybe 40, 40-something for the 12°, and a little bit more for the 14° dark. All three in excellent shape and some of the best beers of the style in the country (and so, the world), especially the pales. The slightly older gentleman behind the pipes did his job well, and it was fun to chat with a stammgast from the other Nalévárna who came to visit this place as well. One screen showing footie, old school caricatures on the walls, a big-ceilinged, light room (an improvement from the other place), and this might actually become my prefered HPN to go to, if the turnover of people keeps the taps flowing and beers fresh.
All in all, you should and probably will visit this place, it's just one of those that cannot objectively get a huge score, but which you will enjoy immensely if you like great lagers! |
