Visited April 2017, Brexit ale tour. - During lunch hour whe the Pantiles Tap was still empty. Nice basic and traditional cask bitter selection of locals and a few international macros. Efficient student service, relaxed atmosphere in the otherwise oddly fancy-clad Pantiles shopping street. Ales seemed to be in good condition, pub grub was pretty basic, value fair.

Been here thrice. 2 good experiences and 1 less so! Generally choice and quality not as good as Pantiles Tap nearby.

Went here on a rainy Sunday for some food and a beverage or two. Ragged Trousers is a small trendy bar with outdoor seating on the Pantiles. They had 3 well-kept cask ales on offer, which at this time were from Royal Tunbridge Brewery, Larkins and Adnams. Bottle selection is fairly standard and includes the likes of Goose Island IPA and Brooklyn. Food was tasty and contemporary. The music and atmosphere was laid back and alternative. A nice place to spend an afternoon.
