We were in the area with an afternoon free to explore. So we visited the Real Ale facility in Blanco, TX. Dozens of nearby wineries but this is the only legit brewery that distributes also. The building looks nice from the outside and even better inside. I was served two pints, one of a beer I had not had before and another that I was familiar with. My wife went with a cocktail. Great atmosphere, friendly service, the beer was cold and reasonably priced.

Visited the new facility - it is huge. They now have an actual tasting room with around 10 taps and some bottles to purchase (cannot take home - must drink on site). Flights of 4 beers for $4.00! The free tour is highly recommended - very informative. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. A food truck was on-site.

A buddy and I did a brewery and BBQ road trip and this was first brewery stop. Tasting room was essentially outside at picnic tables under shade trees while they had six taps just inside. Brewery tour was exceptional. Very, very informative. Tour leader gave us a lot of details about their processes and knew answers to everything we could come up with to ask. Was impressed by how professional they are and how they run their process. Great to hear that it is paying off and they are growing quite a bit. Was glad to see their room with barrels of experimental brews. Would recommend to everyone.

This is the best brewery experience ever, by a lot. And I’ve been to most of the ’top’ craft breweries in the US. Great atmosphere, friendly brewers, and it would be impossible to beat the prices. No snobbishness whatsoever, just a bunch of dudes that like making good beer.

Erik and Co are definately very nice folks that love making the great beers that they do. The brewery tour is very good and shows how their capacity has gone up quite a bit in the past few years. The barrel aging room is the best-every barrel has a "name" from a metal hero (Tom G Warrior, Horgh, all kinds of other black metal/death metal heros). Their beer is alwasy solid and i always come back to their beer when i want it. Definate stop if your in central tx on a friday afternoon!

Stopped by during RBWG 2012. A nice brewery with a small tasting room. The weird thing about Texas breweries is that they can’t sell beers, so you get samples or you have to buy a glass for the beers. If you’re going to go, I recommend going to one of the tours or there may not be much going on otherwise. The servers and the brewers were very kind to us and showed us all around. If you get a chance, ask the brewer what he thinks about sour beers.

One of the stops during RBWG 2012. Tastings and tours on Friday. They had about 6 taps. Very good beers. Friendly service and a great tour.

Stopped by unannounced, and they were busy. Not to worry; they gave a free 12 pack of Full Moon Pale for my trouble. As if I needed another reason to love this brewery...

the place is a hole in the wall, but we made sure that they knew we were coming before heading out and the brewers were great. took the time to answer my questions and took us out to the new facility that is being built. it is going to be freaking huge. watch out for real ale.
