68 Located in an indsutrial park just a stone's throw from Young Veterans. Typical set up for an induustrial park, large garage door, sparse interrior, makeshift patio. Good service and selection of beers. |
84 A bit out of the way, but a nice place. Certainly not large inside. Its basically a bar motif with a main bar that seats about 12. Pennies under laquer is a good touch. About 7 tables and a back bench as well. Wait, there is a second room, the "patio area" that would seat at least as many at picnic table seating, so that is good. Parking out front. 16 taps, good range of styles available. 5 bottles and 2 cans to go when I was there as well. To go bottles were all sours, a style that RB appears to do well from my samples. Flights of four available; price ranges from 6-10$ depending on your choices. Friendly and helpful service. Beer quality was pretty high overall. No grand slams were hit on my visit, but no strikeouts either. My scores ranged from 3.6-4.1 for a variety of beers in multiple styles. This is certainly a place to watch. I think this place is quality and bears watching. |
82 Really great small but growing local brewery.
Great new tasting room (old one was small and cramped).
Selction changes...but the keep some standards on tap and try new things...not all are winners - but in aggregate producing great flavorful beer. Probably best brewery in VA Beach at this point.
Brewer/owner doesn’t make many appearances since he’s always working - but he should come out front more - he knows his stuff. Other bar staff is friendly, engaging and service oriented. |
90 Great new location! 10 taps with a great selection. New barrel-aged beers are now on tap. |
74 Only had 6 beer on tap crowded, slightly noisy. A few excellent beer. |
82 Welcome to the Beer Revulotion. The first visit to Beach Brewing they were in the same industrial park in a very small tasting room. On Saturday they opened in a bigger location. Tents were in the parking lot and I arrived 1 hour early. The great personal service from this brewery still filled a growler for the Special Olympics party on the beach. The bar surface is compsed of pennies for the entire area. This is a first class tasting room with wonderful servers. |
64 Small micro brewery, demand has been much higher than demand so tasting all their beer is not always an option. |
62 Small location in an industrial area close to NAS Oceana. Always friendly service and fun to stop by to see what’s going on and what’s new. Samplers offered at a low cover price. |
48 Very small tasting room with good opening hours, nestled in a warehouse industrial zone outside of VA Beach. Ample free parking. Only room inside for about 6-8 people. 5 Taps on when I was there, I don’t think they even had 7 tap lines. You can get a flight of 4...leaving the fifth beer I guess needing to order a full glass of? -__- Beer quality was average to slightly above average. The DIPA and RIS were both very nice. The Berliner and others quite odd with the Altbier lacto infected. They sold two bottles to go, their DIPA and a one-off BA Barleywine. Growler fills as well as keg sales. Staff was I guess not so interested in chatting with us or seemingly not very happy to have us there despite us being 2 of 4 people inside the crammed space. The staff I figured out from reading the newspaper articles on the walls were the husband/wife owners and brewers it seems. Overall, the Beach Brewing stuff was hard to find in bottles around town and was barely on tap anywhere in the vicinity, so this was really the only way to try their stuff. Good for ticking, will be worth the trip if their BA Barleywine delivers. Prices were good- $5 for 4 sample flight and $3-5 a full glass pour. You can do 64oz growler fills or 32oz "grenade" fills. |
66 This has to be one of the smallest tasting rooms I’ve ever seen, although in good weather on weekends there is some space outdoors. The beers are very solid, four available when I visited, plus another in bottles. They just installed a TV to attract the football-watching crowd. Worth a stop, especially since it’s the only craft brewery in Virginia Beach. |
