Redwillow Buxton

A fantastic recreation of a old school pub serving a range of 8 ales + ciders. Efficient service. The ESB I had was outstanding

We (me, dad, Pauline and Loz) visited here Saturday 17th February 2018. We caught the Trans Peak bus there and back from Belper. Redwillow has popped up since we were last in Buxton and with Beer District (bottle shop) and the Buxton Tap both just a stones throw away you have a great little beery hot-spot here. The building is a lovely old stone building on the corner of Cavendish Circus and George Street (I think). It occupies what was the old Royal Bank of Scotland branch building. Its opposite a Pizza restaurant.

Inside it is really nicely done and quite the contrast from the simply furnished set ups that are popping up everywhere else. There is lots of wood, nice original glass windows, very comfortable seating arranged in little alcoves, further seating upstairs and a wonderful small private cubicle at the end of the bar which you have to imagine was once the bank managers office. We really liked this place, it is classy. The bar is across from the seating and has an electronic colour display of what is available on the five cask and 15 keg lines, behind the bar is also a fantastic range of gins (50+, I believe)

The beer choice was very good on our visit, ok it was mainly Redwillow but with Magic Rock, Brasserie De La Senne amongst the guests it was clearly well chosen. We liked it here and I have to say for a venue and comfort it is far better than the Buxton Tap, ok the beer at the Buxton Tap may be better but it seems to have become a victim of its own success, frequently rammed and too many push chairs and kids running about. This by contrast was an oasis of beery calm.
