Rupert’s Brew House

Located in an old brick building. Inside is dark with tables and couches scattered around. A fireplace and stage for live music. A room in the back with a pool table and a few pinball machines. It has more if a locals dive bar feel to it than a brewpub. The beers were all solid and clean. I like it, I'd come back.

Smaller brew pub with a more traditional bar ambiance than some of the other new brewpubs. Excellent selection of their brews which are all very good.

Rupert’s is another one of the new breweries in the area. They do not have any food, but they do allow you to bring your own food in if you would like. You have to order at the bar, but it is well worth it. I have been there a handful of times at this point and every beer I’ve had has been delicious and worth every penny. Sometimes they have live music, which some people enjoy, but I do not personally care for it. They also have some board games that you can play. There is a pool table in the back room, but not quite enough space. We were sitting in the only open table this last weekend, which was by the pool table, and the fellas playing pool were asking us to move regularly. There is definitely room for improvement as far as functionality and they have some room for growth, but the beer has been awesome. The staff has been solid thus far, but usually interaction with the staff is fairly limited without servers.

A good spot near Western in Kalamazoo. The atmosphere is nice and open, and the service is good. Draft selection is solid as well (they had 9 beers of theirs on when we stopped in). Worth a stop if you’re in the area. Try the Peanut Butter Porter!
