2015 rate:
Not the nicest location but it was closest to our accommodation so we decided to end our Bend ale trail here. Saturday night and the bar was less than half full. Live band, decent music. Surprisingly good beers and great service. I admit I might have been a bit tipsy by the time I finished the last beer but my designated walker bolstered my images.
2018 update:
They have had the place remodelled. Looks nice. The beers were tasty. 14 beers on tap. Flight of 5 available ($8). Nothing to complain really.

Interesting spot that looks like a locals only hole in the wall brewery. Big selection of solid ipas. Come for a quick tick only.

Stopped in here at the end of my Saturday. There was live music, which was alright, and there is plenty of beer on tap. However, I’m not a huge fan of Silver Moon’s stuff, and their UNKLE pilsner didn’t change my mind. I also didn’t really like the space all that much; it’s almost a warehouse that, though spacious, doesn’t have any real memorable character. Prices, however, are really good, and the service was decent given how crowded it was with the band their followers. Chill place that I wouldn’t go out of my way to re-visit.

Another nice tap room in Bend. Loose and comfortable.

A local favorite brewpub. Outdated interior with bizarre mural work, wide open awkward spaces. Fill out your own sheet sample flights are the bomb. Beer quality was above average with some really nice stuff. Local patrons were chill and clearly big homeboys for their beer. Graphic designer and interior decorator desperately needed. Lots of house beers on tap, around 8 I’d say. Seasonals and one-offs on tap. Prices were great. Don’t miss this secret brewpub if you’re in Bend as it is literally walking distance from Deschutes, Brother Jons, Crows Feet Commons, and Bend Brewing. No excuses!

Bar with seats for maybe 50-60. Half with high tables and a pool table area; half with some tables in front of a small stage. Curving bar for 20 or so. Sort of alt-hipster crowd. Not that I felt entirely out of place, but maybe some dreadlocks, tats, or piercings would have let me blend in better than khaki shorts and a polo shirt did. Service was iffy at first, but got better soon. A fairly loud two-man music group was onstage, and a woman bothered us a couple of times to pay a cover charge, but we focused on the menus and she drifted away. Good, if limited, food menu: sandwiches, several good appetizers, and salads. Samplers of the brews were five 4oz. glasses for $8. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the beer. This is a seriously underrated brewery. Go there, and try what they have.

(Visited 05/2013 - Stop #3 on the Bend Ale Trail): Silver Moon is located on Greenwood Ave at the Bend Parkway. A little bit of a hike from the other breweries in the area, and I am not sure what the parking situation is.

The exterior of the building is bright blue and looks immediately over the street below. The inside opens to the an open room with table seating on either side and the bar directly in the rear. Murals on the walls and a disco ball. Boards behind the bar list the specials and beers on tap.

As for the beers they serve 7 house beers including an IPA, a few Pales, Porter, Pils and Belgians. 5-beer samplers are available. The beers were all consistently above average.

Service at the bar was good. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable.

I did not have any food on this visit.

Overall this spot is a little out of the way but a worthwhile stop in Bend.
