68 Quite eccentric to transform a former public toilet into a craft beer bar but I'm buying it. Expect a dark myriad of smallish rooms and uneven brick walls with heaps of random junk nailed to them. This place could be the perfect spot to film a "den of thieves"-style venue for a movie depicting the mid-XIXth century. I liked its originality. 12 taps with a decent selection, fair prices. This place is one of a kind. |
62 I should have ventured inside but didn't. I did have a nice sour IPA on the sidewalk of the traffic island. There are also some better seats on top of the structure with a view down one of the main drags and a pedestrianized street. They seemed to be out of multiple beers on their pretty decent taplist, and their prices were a bit higher than other places. Free popcorn makes up for that. Slightly. |
68 Steinplatz is on a traffic island opposite Lidl. There are outside tables circled round the entrance and despite the traffic fumes they’ve somehow made it a pleasant place to have a drink. The bar is down steep steps into a crepuscular cave-like room which may well once have been public toilets. It’s dark, dank and slightly eccentric down there. Fill it with a bit more junk and you’d have the Slovakian equivalent of Velootje in Gent. There were 12 taps so a decent choice although what was on the printed list didn’t correspond very closely to what was actually available.

66 This could have been great place if: the service would actually give a try and speed up (a lot) and if it was no smoking bar. Ventilation is rather poor so when it is crowded you can barely see. Otherwise it's okay and as it is last bar with craft beer around to close it's great last stop for your trip |
56 Small cellar bar with lots of outside seating during summer. Looks quite cozy inside with dimmed light, a small serving bar, rather old furniture and some gimmicks on the walls. The chalkboards and the menu actually give the impression of about a dozen taps, I think about half of them were actually in use, and all of the chalkboards showed a different selection and I had no clue which one was the most accurate. In the end, I just decided to go for the house beer (Einstein IPA) which was pretty good at 2 € for 0.4 l. Apart from that, the selection was all about Slovak and Czech micros. Beers can only be ordered in 0.4 l unfortunately. Staff wasn't overly interested or attentive, I just ordered at the bar although there was supposed to be a waitress. Smoking is allowed. Very interesting bar, surely quite unique, but I guess it might have been my last and only visit due to several factors. |
74 Small pub located in former public toilets building. Good selection of Slovak and Czech beers. Usually crowed late evenings. Smoking is allowed in whole bar. |
