74 Cool place with lots of good beer and a nice homey vibe. Wasn't super busy in here but still friendly service. Beer all good, flights available. Had a couple on my visit. They also had a couple of guest taps on. Worth a stop in. |
72 Lodge like feel with a few of theirs and some guest taps. Service was nice, but beers were just average. Flights available and food was reasonably priced and pretty good. |
62 Reminded me of a college bar in a warm weather town. Open front, bar, bar tables. Friendly service. Decent enough beers. Filling pub food. What's not to like? |
72 Visited late on a Thursday evening in February 2017. This felt like a hip place with decent beers. The service was good, although it felt a bit that the lady behind the bar wanted to go home. (we were the only customers) Located around 8 minutes walk from my hotel in San Diego, The Lafayette. |
78 The Barn is in the upscale/trendy brewpub setup. Fashioned to feel a bit like a barn both inside and out, they really go after that modern urban country atmosphere- lot’s of wood planks. Fairly small inside with seating out front, too. A decent amount of house taps with some guests, too. The beer was not a standout, but the ones I had were all serviceable. The saison was pretty tasty, though. Service was friendly and quick. They have a couple TVs usually playing SD sports. A decent little spot just off 30th. |
68 Kinda cool place, rather slow to be on a Saturday evening. Beers were good flights available. Did not go for any food. Worth a visit when in the area. |
68 Right across the street from The Homebrewer/Home Brewing, pretty much. Kind of a dark, almost divey bar feel to it. Outside does have some semblance of a rural/barny decor to it. Small patio area, too. Lots of places to sit at the bar inside, too.
Beers are all listed on the chalkboard. They have a handful of house beers along with lots of guest beers--pretty good selection between the two, though the guest beers were sort of your typical San Diego offerings from around town. The young woman serving behind the bar during my visit didn’t seem to know too much about the beers, but she was friendly enough and the service was prompt. Beers here were just sort of meh. I don’t think I’d recommend this place in such a beer rich neighborhood like North Park. |
