78 My wife and I stopped in a couple times during our brief stay in Eugene. We had a couple different experiences which averaged out to the score I’m giving it. They offer a large selection of to go/on site bottles in fridges. I liked the organization, made it easy to find what you wanted. The taps are on a large TV screen with descriptions and offered in multiple sizes. There was plenty of indoor seating and some nice patio seating, too. People watching is a thing here as there is apparently a Pokémon Go hangout or something right across the street. Not my thing, but lots of characters for sure. The payment system was dumb; one line for taps and for bottles for on-site consumption, a separate line for to-go bottles. The on-site line is generally stupid long and slow while the to-go line is short and quick. I was told multiple times (sometimes extremely rude, sometimes understanding, sometimes confused why I didn’t enjoy waiting 20 minutes in line for a beer) they sometimes use the to-go line for on-site when the line gets long, but when I was standing at the entrance of the place, 20 people back from the register trying to buy a pint, I think that is a perfect time to open up the other register for on-site. That was frustrating enough to keep me away from drinking there on an even-semi-regular basis. To me, this is only useful as a to-go bottle shop, and it is a nice to-go bottle shop. |
94 Great beer selections and staffs are nice. Definitely the best place in Eugene. |
90 Large open and airy with parking, patio and a large bar. Huge bottle selection for take out as well and lots of taps. They know enough and were very nice. Prices were very good and small pours available. A superb stop that is as good as the hype. |
86 A great beer bottle shop/bar spot. A large open space with a large central bar surrounded by seating, Flat Screen beer boards and a few TVs. Service was good considering it was a bit busy. A nice combination of locals and non-locals on tap with a top of the line bottle selection. Samplers available. Prices were a touch steep but selection was worth it. A great spot! |
94 Excellent selection, with a fantastic layout of their beers. They even show how recently it was tapped and how much is left, which is awesome! Their selection of bottled beers is also great and the people who work their know their stuff. Food is also pretty awesome. |
84 We stopped in for a weekend dinner. Order food and beer upfront and go find a seat. It’s a fairly big area with a square bar in the middle of a dining area and a pool table on the side. They had 20-some taps, including a cider and two nitros; and there’s a bunch (100s?) of bottles in upright coolers to have there or take-away. The pretzel, beer cheese, fries and mac & cheese were delicious. If you want more beer for food after your initial order just text it to the bar without having to get up into line again. Well worth going out of your way for. |
92 Great bar/restaurant/bottle shop in Eugene. I’d been to the old bar a few times in the past, but this new (opened April 2013) and much expanded one is really something. 24 taps, pretty well selected. Cool electronic tap list board showing all beer info, plus approximate percentage remaining in each keg -- this is also available in real time on their web site. About 1,000 bottles in a long cooler section along one side. Bar seating for maybe 35-40. Tables for 247 (I asked). There were 50-60 people there in mid afternoon on a Thursday. Wide, airy space. Some fairly loud music on the system. Variety of pub food: entrees, salads, sandwiches. Also six pairing items, with a recommended brew for each. Service was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. Great place! |
90 An awesome place, the doubles as a bottle shop / bar & restaurant. The bottle shop section has an extensive selection, almost rivalling Belmont Station. Prices for the bottles seem high at first, but those are dine-in prices - you get a 20% discount to go. Beer selection is solid on tap, and priced very reasonably. Food menu offers a nice selection of sandwiches and salads, including some nice veggie/vegan options. *The* place to go for bottle shopping and draught beer when in Eugene: |
