A famous, cool looking old pub, but way too touristic location.

Visited for dinner on a Friday night. This place is on almost every tourist’s itinerary, but it’s still well worth visiting. The place was very busy, though we found two tables for our group in the outdoor area almost right away. I was fascinated by all of the artifacts and decorations of the pub, both outside and inside were very cool to check out. Beer menu is fairly limited, though the Guinness I had here was one of the best I have had. Food menu is standard Irish fare, though was much tastier than I was expecting. If you are traveling with a group, well worth visiting. (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time) I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Oldest best in Dublin. A cool place when you walk in there is seating outside or in a few different smaller rooms. A small tap list of random beers.

One of Ireland's oldest pubs so worth a visit for that alone. A number of interconnected small rooms patronised by tourists and locals alike. Service was good and pub-style meals and snacks are available. Beers are local Irish only (not craft) and while prices are Dublin standard, all items are expensive.

Supposedly the oldest pub in Ireland. Intricate system of small rooms with a small interior court you can sit outside in to have a beer. Guinness pub, not a heck of a lot going on beer-wise except for a lot of it. Kinda fun to check out though.

The Brazen Head (20 Lower Bridge St, Merchants Quay, Dublín 8) es el pub más antiguo de Irlanda (fundado en 1198). Con eso queda todo dicho. El encanto que tiene este pub es realmente alucinante: tiene una entrada adoquinada que da a un patio, que se nota a leguas que era el antiguo establo; entras en el pub (en alguna de sus múltiples salas) y te recibe una bonita semioscuridad, barras, mesas y sillas de madera antigua, una decoración tradicional irlandesa que solo se puede describir como “exuberante”, muchísima gente y puede que hasta el sonido de la música tradicional irlandesa en directo. Tienen una amplia selección de eurosurtidores y alguna craft, siendo claramente minoría (recomiendo la IPA de McGargles) y la comida es bastante buena (se trata de “comida de pub”, de la que hablaré más adelante). Además, es un sitio que, a mí personalmente, me gusta para tomarme un Irish coffee (ya sabéis, café con whiskey y nata) o alguna de sus variantes, el Baileys coffee (con Baileys en lugar de whiskey) o Gaelic coffee (yo tenía entendido que era con coñac, pero he leído por ahí que es con whisky escocés en lugar de irlandés, así que ya no estoy tan segura). Mi favorito es el Baileys coffee, aunque he de reconocer que, a pesar de que no me gusta demasiado el whiskey, el Irish coffee suele ser suavecito o se integran muy bien los sabores o algo así, porque la verdad es que está bueno. Un consejo: estas bebidas se beben tal cual te las sirven, con sus diferentes capas, que no deben mezclarse. Si pides una cuchara para removerlo, te van a mirar mal y no te la darán (sí, efectivamente, hablo por experiencia propia, aunque en mi defensa diré que esto me pasó en primer año de vivir allí, hace ya mucho tiempo). Como comentaba, es uno de esos pubs en los que cada día hay música irlandesa en directo por la tarde. Se juntan unas pocas personas en una de las mesas con sus instrumentos y sus respectivas pintas de cerveza y amenizan la velada con las mejores melodías del folk irlandés. Da igual si es la primera vez que ves algo así o la enésima: siempre es mágico. Es un pub muy querido y muy famoso, y yo me atrevería a decir que es uno de los mejores pubs de Dublín. Es un pub especial que de ninguna de las maneras os podéis perder.

Large place, but I didn't get past the jam packed central courtyard with dozens of tourists taking pictures. They're a Guinness tied pub, so no craft beer here.

Irelands oldest pub allegedly. Full of history and character but not a lot of decent beer. Come here with all the tourists and have a Guinness. The food looked pretty good too. Not for tickers with the Beer Market close by.
