82 Super chill vibe with chill peeps in Redfern (Sydney). Solid list of 10-ish taps, well curated, smaller sizes for tickers who want to run through a shitload. Gotta love the likes of Wildflower and One Drop, premier local Aussie breweries, plus the obscure but good Bracket, being on tap. Prices average. A nice haunt if you’re in the ‘hood. |
90 Very nice ambiance, easily reachable by public transport as right next to Redfern station. 10 Taps and an extensive bottle list containing a lot of European beers. International beer gets a bit expensive, however nothing unusual for Australia - the local ones on tap however are quite good value. |
98 Not sure how this place falls so low on the Sydney list. Beer travellers - this and Bitter Phew are the top two bars to visit in Sydney, without question.
A small bar close to Redfern station with a rotating list of craft beers both local and international. Can get busy on the weekend, but during the week it is wonderfully quiet and welcoming. You can order pizza from across the road, or get chips with curry from next door. They are happy to let you eat inside.
There's a bottle list too, with a great international selection. Expensive, but that's what you get in Sydney. |
90 Introduced to me by Hugh, this place is magic! Great location in the heart of Redfern. Really nice look and ambiance, with old cycling pics on the walls and exposed brickwork. Selection is good (8 taps with a mix of Australian and international, including some unusual stuff) and significantly better value than many other beer bars in Sydney. You get spicy popcorn made for you when you order a beer, but the 10 for food is really because you can get La Coppola pizzas delivered from across the road. Staff are super friendly as are the crowd that get in. Important stop on a Sydney beer tour. |
