A large open space with a long bar and plenty of seating. They serve up a variety of hot dogs withe plenty of creative toppings. My wife and I enjoyed both of ours. The beer list is extensive and top notch. They do have a cask offering, too. Quick and friendly service. Great place.

Love the Red Hot, and especially the bicycle parking space. The beer is excellent, and service is too. It can get noisy after 630pm.

Love the service and atmosphere here. Good beer selection and hotdogs/brats. People that come here are also nice.

Probably my favorite spot in Tacoma to date. They are just about to expand into the neighboring space, so it will be great to see how that works out. Currently they have around 13 beers on tap. Good mix of options and lower than Seattle pricing. Menu is simple and cheap...hot dog, nachos, fritos pie type of stuff. Service has always been great when I have been here and with E9 almost across the street and Tacoma Boys just a short drive down 6th, you can take care of the better stops in Tacoma.

Yeah this place is the bomb if you like beer & hot dogs. The ambiance is a little dive-y but comfortable and friendly. The service was quick. The selection is good, some taps & bottles with mostly local stuff & seasonals available. The hot dogs taste incredibly, are creative, and cheap, so the value is very very good. I love this place!

A hipster enclave on Tacoma’s 6th Avenue, which is in the midst of something of a renaissance. For years, 6th was a bit of a dumping ground for businesses in T-Town, but, like downtown and quite a few other districts in the City of Destiny, 6th is coming up. And that makes room for spots like The Red Hot, which just carved out an available space in vintage construction, nestled between a dress shop and a dog washing parlor. They’re serious about beer, judging by the signage and the tap handles. Big bar dominates the room, plus some highboys and a few tables. Big chalk tap list. Service is a little bored and alienated...interesting choice for people in service positions. Food is wonderfully cheap, but it’s just a bunch of weird hot dogs. It’s cool that you get to eat them with good beer, but it’s all the kind of food that automatically makes you think you could do twice as well at home for half the money, which is probably not the reaction they want when they’re trying to give you a heck of a deal (which they do succeed in doing). If you’re in T-Town, and you’re not hitting a brewery, Jake’s, or the Parkway, then TRH will hook you up with a beer and a brat.

The Red Hot is a welcome addition to the craft brew scene in the Tacoma area. Beer selection is very good, rivaling that of the Parkway Tavern, but with fewer handles. They update their taplist religiously via social networks. Real ale is usually available. Beer knowledge among staff is very good to excellent and there are special events and brewer’s nights which are value-added. Ambiance is pretty average due to the size of the place, high ceilings and all-glass front. It can get loud at times. Getting seating can be a challenge during special events and it’s not easy to socialise among groups, though the recent expansion helps the situation. Service is improving all the time, and the limited food selection is fair - if you want hot dogs cooked on the counter. While the descriptions sound like ’gourmet’ hot dogs, this is hardly a gourmet production and below average pub fare. Prices however are very good (best in the region for craft beer) and the place has promise. Games are shown on the big screen. The craft brew bar for the regular guy/gal.

I’m starting to like Tacoma? Very nice beer selection, had a great Coney dog, friendly staff and customers, good casual atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to friends.
