The Welcome Hotel

I was staying at an Air b n b near here so strolled in one afternoon to check out. Just went to the pub, not the garden but it’s a cozy traditional Australian pub, but instead of the usual swill has 12-15 quality craft on tap. Good service. Not really aimed at geeks but certainly worth going if you are in the area. With all the places in Marrickville it would be hard to figure why you would go here, but still a good place

Visited on 6th April 2016. It’s a large pub in suburban Rozelle. It’s got a nice beer garden out the back and plenty of room inside. Had a good range of craft beer from NSW and Victoria when we visited. Prices weren’t too bad either. Buses will get you from the city if you really want to go, Balmain and Rozelle has a few nice tradtional pubs within walking distance. It’s a good local pub with a decent range of beers.

Nice venue. Good feel to the place and a nice outdoors area. Can get really busy at times with the restaurant next to the pub. Same with a lot of Sydney pubs. Does get some interesting stuff on tap and other times a really drab list. Usually a Modus beer on tap so that is OK. Some of their staff know beer, others do not. Food is pretty average. AJO is not average. That is worth hitting. Pricing is a bit cheaper than the CBD area but do get full pints. So there is win there. Check tap lists before going.

My new favorite beer bar in Sydney, with the right combination of elements coming together. The building and interior are Victorian era, renovated to maximize the character of the space. It’s in a residential neighborhood far from CBD, but was packed with locals on the weekend. The crowd eclectic, lots of artsy/creative good looking yuppy types mostly 30-somethings. Solid beer list with thoughtful offerings you might not see at other pubs. Strongly recommended.

Not particularly convenient but worth the trip. Great selection of around 20 beers. Well-chosen list, and unlike some places it’s not just NSW beers - the Welcome is a good place to try some Vic beers as well. Bustling place at night, too, but yet casual. A really quality stop.

Great selection of beers, with the likes of Little brewing company featuring EKIM and also Wicked Elf. Food is extremely good with some great chefs on board. A must visit.
