Located in suburban Thebarton just a short walk from the free tram stop from the CBD, The Wheaty is my must visit whenever I'm in Adelaide (which is all too infrequent). Their tap beers brewed on-site are always fresh and tasty and this is matched by great customer service. Tap prices are craft beer standard however they do offer a range of glass sizes so you can have a few small ones (locally known as butchers) rather than having one big one. Their chalk board lists the available beers, wines and whisk(e)ys. The decor hasn't changed in the years I've been visiting however it's the beers that count.

Easily the best brewpub/taphouse in Adelaide. A great selection of local, interstate and overseas beers on tap (as well as an extensive bottle list) and since June this year, a range of brews made on the premises. The pub has a number of different spaces both indoors and out, some with lounge chairs, others with tables, so something to suit everyone. They don’t have food, but the deli across the road has takeaway pizzas which you are welcome to bring back to the pub. All in all its the sort of pub I’d love to have as my local!

Made a trip here today as the first go to pub via trap and hoof on a very hot day. Quite warm inside too, but worth it. Great selection of Oz beers in general n locals in particular, plus choice imports. Staff is super friendly yet laid back and helpful/knowledgeable. Had some cheese n crackers- tasty! Fair prices. Friendly customers. Pool table. Going to try to return..

Great atmosphere, unpretentious country pub with only craft beers on tap. domestic and international. Glass Hop back vessel attached to the bar top with various favorites flowing. Pool table, darts board, lounge room, band playing on sat night.

Great place to sit back and relax in the afternoon. Live music in the evenings. No food but there is a great place that has take away pizzas across the road(The Deli.) Good tap and bottle list.

Went there early in the day mid week by myself killing sometime. So I’m sure the experience would be even better with a group of mates, Friday or Saturday with some live music or a beer event! Was awesome chilling out sampling a variety of beers with not bad seville for a afternoon. Will be back next time in Adelaide hopefully on a weekend.

An amazing selection of tap beers that is constantly changing, the addition of the hopinator creates some interesting variations of popular brews. Without a doubt Adelaide’s best pub for a quality beer.

On a recent trip to AU, I made my family go to the Wheatsheaf after running around the city for a while. Be aware, this is not in the city really and is a little off the beaten path but I found it to be pretty sweet. Very much has the feel of a "local" bar. Decent tap selection for Australia but has a pretty extensive bottle menu. It is pricey though, I paid about $12 for my draft and about $40 for a bottle of Cantillon Fou Foune to go. No food available which kinda sucked but apparently they have plans to add a small kitchen. I would go back here for sure if I was in the city. *** My score probably seems a little harsh but being from the states where we seem to be pretty spoiled with great beer bars, this to me is a fair rating. Like I said, I would not hesitate going here again.
