56 (Visited July 2019) Good ramen restaurant on the pedestrian part of Mare Street a hundred meters from Hackney Central. Bright interior in light wood. Friendly and efficient service. Really good food. I wouldn't go here only for the beer but they have a handfull of good local craft beers in bottles and a house beer on tap from Magic Rock. Not far from Cock Tavern. Worth a visit if you're hungry and in the area. |
60 On the right if you are heading north up the pedestrianised section of Mare Street in the shopping centre, this is a thinnish shop unit restaurant with a nice line of keg beers to compliment your food, but it pretty much is just to compliment. Look in the fridges for a slightly more eclectic selection. Not sure about Sake here. Didn't eat. |
74 A good ramen joint on the northern end of Mare Street. The place itself is fairly sleek and has an upscale feel to it. The food is very good, and the servings are bountiful. Dishes are around 11 quid on average. The beer selection is solid, Four keg taps, with Kernel and Beavertown pouring during my visit (along with some Japanese lager). Nice range in can and bottle as well, including a custom beer for the restaurant made by 40ft. There looks to be a vast range of Japanese whiskies as well. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, this is a good spot for a hearty meal and a beer. |
