66 This total wine was a great one to visit for me since I lack a lot of northern Florida ticks, and these guys do a pretty good job of keeping it regional. Lots of selection here from the area, and spent way more than I should have. Service was pretty trash, even at Total Wine levels. The woman at the register was not impressed when I rolled up with like 30 singles. |
66 Like other Total Wine locations. Huge, good selection, and decent prices. Certainly doesn’t have the feel or service of a small bottle shop, but it gets the job done at more reasonable prices. |
84 Grab a few six packs of jai alai and also made two more mixed sixes. Most of the store is wine and spirits. Solid bourbons reasonably priced. Basically 3 long aisles of beer, with 2 being singles. Others were cases of box and crafts. A few coolers in the back. Clean and well laid out, could tick here for years to come. Not the greatest of bottle shops but a recommended stop if looking to pick up some bottles. |
54 Had some time to swing by here on a recent visit, and had high hopes of finding some Florida craft. Alas, was really disappointed with this location. Horrible layout compared to other TW branches and a pretty scattershot (at best) selection of beer. Just a smattering of Intuition and CCB (the real basics, with only Cubano Espresso Maduro being worth a purchase). Shame I didn’t have time to go to Grassroots, as this was a washout. |
86 Best beer selection in town. Others aren't even close. Great selection of kegs. |
88 Lot’s of prior reviews are pretty harsh on this place. I’m not a beer snob, so I’m not looking for rare or obscure items. I like a nice selection of IPA’s and other ales or seasonals from around the country, and this place has plenty. Prices are good. I like their singles selection. |
56 Sort of out of the way inside St. Johns Town Center is a sort of random part of the giant outdoor mall that destroyed hundreds of pristine pine forest. This Total Wine is pretty run-of-the-mill: massive selection of mediocre beer from all over the planet with mix and match six packs...a tickers paradise! Occasionally they will have Cigar City or something interesting. They actually stock Bold City here, though Grassroots has more. All in all, I see no reason to come here anymore considering the much tighter selection at Grassroots. Forget about getting Struise, De Dolle, BFM, or anything that fancy at Total Wine. If you are on your way to or from Jax Beach, it’s worth stopping by. But if you are in Jacksonville for a quick beer trip, stay in Five Points Riverside and do Grassroots, Kickbacks, Bold City, and Intuition. There is no way they have 2,500 bottles though lol! Maybe 600. Actually, I would argue that Total Wine’s selection is moderately better than any Publix in town. So...go to Publix and get subs while you’re at it. |
64 Best selection in Jacksonville, if that’s saying anything. Prices are also about the best, but they are not low. Lots of singles available and even full cases and kegs of some beers. Its mostly a wine and liquor store but they have improved the beer selection and presentation somewhat lately. Few of the staff have any clue about beer but they are willing to help. If you are in the area its worth a stop, but not worth a long trip to get there. If you live here, its hard not to shop this place at least occasionally. |
60 If you have been to one etc. Still a decent place to try singles. |
72 Tough to give an ambiance and service rating to a national chain, but they’re fine considering. Selection is quite good, pretty much the best you can get in a beer store in Jax. Prices are average to high. Like most have said, no reason to go out of your way, but if you’re in the area, it’s possible you might find something you’re looking for. |
