80 Not much you can say about Total Wine. They all seem almost identical to me, except for what you find on the shelves. I did think that this outlet had an exceptonial variety of Regional craft, with almost an entire aisle of singles. There was no shartage of new breweries for me try. Whiel I couldn't get everything I wasn't disappointed with the haul I got. |
54 Store itself was a mess - shit everywhere, carts, boxes, cases. Beer isle smallest of the three Total Wines I have been to, and definitely the messiest. Some have no prices, lots of empty holes, lots of shit shoved way deep into the shelf. One guy there was friendly and apologized for his cart being in my way, but cashier scanned the same beer multiple times when I wasn’t paying attention (thanks itemized receipt). I left with 2+ cases of shit I haven’t tried (though most of the stuff I could get in Charlottesville I just haven’t yet). I’ll go out of my way and go back to Gainesville next time. If you’re from out of town, stop in - you’ll find a good amount of stuff you haven’t had. |
76 Dedicated parking. Big selection of singles, found several country ticks. Reasonable prices. Good service. Typical Total Wine and More. |

74 (Visited 03/2014): This Total Wine location is on Broad Street in the Henrico area of north Richmond. There is a large parking lot in front of the building. The interior is similar to other stores, with aisles full of different beverages. The beer is located on the left hand side, both in packs and singles. The sections are divided geographically. The beer selection numbers in the hundreds, including many regional breweries like Starr Hill, Blue Mountain, Hardywood and Alewerks. Other domestic craft breweries like Bruery, Boulevard, Epic, Terrapin and Firestone Walker, plus many imports. Service was pretty good on my visit, if typical of this type of store. I was pointed to the section I needed, asked if I needed any help, and treated well at checkout. Overall this chain doesn’t have a world class selection but can always be counted on to provide some good selections, including many from local brewers. |
76 Actually have to say that this place has improved markedly over time. They actually manage to get some harder to find brews these days - and the selection really is quite large. Pricing is pretty average. Staff, although mostly not knowing a thing about any of the product, has at least one hard core beer guy on the payroll these days. Service for me has always at least been friendly. Although I wouldn’t go out of my way for a visit, I think most people would easily find something worthwhile there. I should add that they have recently been showing a real commitment to stocking locally brewed stuff, which is commendable and welcome. |
64 A large, tired-looking warehouse with an emphasis on wine - wide selection of bottles, usually displayed standing up in a surprisingly warm, cavernous room. The selection of craft and imported beers is excellent, and prices are much better than in my home neighborhood near Boston. Service is friendly but uninformed. Beer can be hard to locate - Stone ’s full line-up is in alphabetical order, except for the Imp Russian Stout released yesterday for 2012, which was on an odds-and-ends display area., and the Epic 11-11-11 release was still available in April, 2012, but in another area again. It seems hard to believe that they have much turnover of the craft bottles, given their emphasis on wine and commercial beers. |
70 Good selection of bottled beer and wine and surprisingly some bottled/canned food items that can be difficult to find... Staff is never any help though and prices can be expensive. |
68 An awesome beer selection for the area with a massive wine selection. Great place to get anything from a single to a keg. Overall a bit pricey but worth the visit. |
56 Overall it is expensive...but a great selection for the area. Worth a visit. |
