78 Stopped in here with the fam on a rainy Sunday in July. Very good service, staff took away the stroller and although the place isn't laid out like its kid friendly, its very very kid friendly. 15 taps that showed a nice cross section of breweries, but I felt it was a bit randomly chosen. Feel it is always good, but never great - at least for someone who lives in Japan. Only Japanese craft beers. They also have a pretty deep sake list as well - the theme is sake and beer. The food is Japanese and the Soba was fantastic. My wife (Japanese) was very surprised by the quality. Prices for half pints are a bit high and food was a tad high, but quality was good. Service was good. Location is excellent. Won't be a regular, but wouldn't hesitate to stop by again, especially if I am with the family. |
74 Right under the tracks in front of Ueno Station is this soba restaurant with an interesting taplist when I went (TDM, Blue Magic and Romantic Village which are rarely ever seen in Kansai), the food looked good in the menu but a bit on the pricey side and as I’d just eaten I passed on it. The 15 taps of domestic craft were complemented by a diverse range of sake that looked appetizing. 6 seats at the bar and another 6 at two high tables in front and maybe 4-6 tables for two by the windows. Feeling the rumble of trains passing overhead was cool, the daytime opening hours means I will definitely be back for some day beers and soba in the future~!

70 A good little venue for food, beer and sake. Having 15 Japanese Craft beers on tap makes it worth seeking out for anyone interested in tasting local brews, but the food is pretty good too. Service was efficient and friendly. |
66 Soba restaurant just outside Ueno station. Minimalist modern design, tourist and salaryman crowd. Pretty much zero atmosphere but tap selection is surprisingly fine, 15 taps of japanese micros, served way too cold in 3 sizes, prices are a bit steep but there is a happy hour discount during the day. Cold/hot soba comes with a small tendon, food is decent but portions are fairly small. Tap list is conveniently displayed outside. Strange place, feels like a salaryman canteen which happens to have a decent tap list. Would probably recommend it for lunch for tourists commuting in the area. |
70 15 taps, all of Japanese craft. Bit pricier than other places, but not sure I really know anywhere else in this area. They are a Craft Beer & Soba place so I suspect the food could be good, or at least original for a beer bar. Pretty average sized place (for those coming from outside Japan, that means small). Was nice enough, but it’s on the wrong side of Tokyo for me. Good, and possibly only option if you are in the Ueno area though. Prices were a little higher than I would have expected. |
