Put simply, this place is the stuff. Walk downstairs (under the related but completely different Barley’s, an excellent beer establishment in its own right) into a dark underground bar and you might as well be in a centuries-old European pub. The focus here is on Belgium, so a dozen or so on tap complemented by a well curated bottle list. A selection of wine and hand crafted cocktails are also available. If that weren’t enough, the food is excellent too - favorites include the several variations of mussels and frites (with multiple mayonnaise options), braised short ribs and the Flemish stew. It gets busy most nights but especially on weekends. If you can’t call ahead then shucks, you can sit at the bar while you wait for a table. These are Belgian beers after all though, so if you have to wait too long you might need a cab more than a seat for dinner.

Visited on a busy Saturday evening. Really cool spot, definitely the type of place that is up my alley. Dark lighting, lots of brick and wood, a very enjoyable atmosphere. Around 16 beers on tap and lots more in the bottle. Prices were a little high, but expected for a place that focuses on belgian beers. I didn’t have dinner, but the menu looked delicious and worth checking out in the future. Service wasn’t great, but they were pretty busy. Servers seemed to be pretty snobby to people who came in without reservations. Overall, though, really cool place, definitely wish there were more places like this around that give you a belgian experience. Next time I’m in Greenville, I’ll return.

Underground pub with a cool old world vibe, but something about it seems unfinished - i couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but it seemed like they were trying to transport you to belgium but couldn’t quite succeed in getting you to forget you were in South Carolina - neat draft system suspended from the ceiling - not a lot of drafts, but a well-selected assortment of import and domestic Belgian styles - drafts are small pours for high prices, but that’s fairly common with Belgians - still, it’s sometimes hard to justify paying six bucks for 5 ounces of beer - they had the Dupont smoked beer on tap, which was cool, but I had to pay nine bucks for a glass - the bottle list looks impressive at first glance, but does not have anything anyone with beer knowledge wouldn’t consider common and easy to attain - staff was decent enough, but not exactly what I would consider "friendly" - I did not eat, as I had just been to Barley’s, but the food looked good - a cool spot - nice to see a place like this in the south.

Same owners as Barley’s but totally different places. Basically in the basement of Barley’s you walk downstairs into an awesome dungeon of a Belgian pub. Wood everywhere, homey feel, unique draft system hanging down from the walls. I’d hang out here. The service was soso, too busy for 1 person working, not overly informative or suggestive. The food was good and worth coming too whether you want beer or not. This is a Belgian themed place, so you won’t find any hoppy stuff. The bottle list is all easily to find Belgians but fit the theme. The draft list is well crafted with local Belgians and foreign, but nothing that’s not gonna excite you. Great atmosphere, good food, ok beer.

There is no better place for Belgian beers in South Carolina. This bar/restaurant has an incredible ambiance, and while a little more pricey, you will be glad you came because of the quality of experience. Service is good, selection is wide, and food is excellent. If you want Belgian food and drink and don’t mind treating yourself, definitely put this on your list.

This is a place with ambiance! The belgian theme is very present in the decor. The selection to me was on the money. Not too many choices and a good blend of different styles. Same for beer. Some unique choices (a lambic on tap?!?!) but again not too many choices (maybe 8 or so on tap). Food looked great. I had the fish and chips which came with a great selection of different mayos. The fish was ok... being over oily. But the theme of the belgian styles of cooking was great and I could definitely go back. Value was on par for the food but the beer was a bit over priced in some cases. Overall it was great to go to a place with ambiance and I would highly recommend going here.

Walked in here on a Sunday evening to find that it was actually pretty crowded The Atmosphere is really awesome - low ceilings, dim tavern-style lighting, pretty wood bar and tables. The crowd is (from what I could tell) younger, lots of beer drinkers. It really induces conversation The beer menu is impressive, it is organized by style (Saisons, sours, browns, quads, dubbels, etc.), and includes Cantillon offerings, Rocheforts, some crazy Allagash stuff, and much much more. I really liked how different styles were showcased on their taps, adds some variety The food menu is ambitious, I have tried the lamburger sliders topped with mint beets and goat cheese (awesome), the mussels, and the steak sandwich. More like a gastropub The service and bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings - they want you to find a beer that you love which is really awesome. We ended up meeting the Australian owner (also owns Barley’s Taproom upstairs), and he is a straight up beer geek and extremely friendly. We ended up talking beer for about 30 minutes before he had to go take care of business The prices were a little expensive, but you get your money’s worth. Definitely recommended for dinner

The ambiance is absolutely stunning here. The building is underground, dim with candles and rustic wooden and iron furnishings. Beer selection is obviously only Belgian or Belgian style. Nothing crazy rare was available but basically every Belgian style was adequately represented. Beer prices are about a dollar or two higher than most comparable bars in the Carolinas. I’ll be back to soak up the atmosphere and will be hungry because their menu looks very appetizing.
