60 Only about 400 metres walk to the northwest from Metro Hradcanská.
Entrance on the corner of the block. Classic dark brown furniture of benches, tables and chairs. Oblong main room. Side rooms. Modern desk. Two brass tap towers. Urquell place. Kitchen is tempting. |
62 How to get here: metro to Hradcanská, exit north, go left, then right into Marákova, go till its end and you'll see its patio to the left.
Ah... another tank PU restaurant... :sigh:. A very popular one, and good old school looking one... as most are really. A lot of people eating, sadly, ate elsewhere. Service was fine, Urquell in a good shape, 52 for a big one (32 I think for a small one) - a bit high for the non-central location maybe? If you want a tank PU, likely the best place in the quarter and to be very much appreciated as such, food prices look good too and the food interesting - but you won't be going for Urquell to Dejvice/Bubenec and there are some fine places around. Still, why not take a pit stop with PU between those places! |
60 Traditional Czech restaurant, Tank Pilsner Urquell and Kozel tmave. Visited a monday around lunch time, line to get a table. Had a fresh PU standing in the first room. Fine service even tho very busy. Cheap prices. Food looked and smelled good, but we went elsewhere for lunch. |
60 Large place with many nooks and crannies. I chose a table farthest in the back, with four old guys playing cards and doing shots and beers. Food was traditional and incredibly filling. One beer. Nice place. |
74 I great place to have Tankova Pilsner with Czechs and few tourists. Very typical old school style Czech Pub/Hospoda. Did not try the food. A little smoky, but that is typical in Czech Rep. I nice place to check out if you are staying in the area, close to Budvarka. |
70 A typical Czech’s restaurant.
Very good, home-like food.
Freindly staff. Fresh Pilsener.
Recommended.

72 Freshest unpasteurized "tankova" Urquelle in Praha, sometimes the unfiltered version. The restaurant/pub makes a mint and is always packed from lunchtime to midnight. Easily the best Czech food I’ve had and the chef never disappoints. Really great atmosphere and a proper local Czech hospoda. Service top notch. Needs a new (or any) ventilation system as you’re bound to leave with a bit of a nicotine stench harbored in your garments, even if you’re situated in the non smoking area. But for that you have detergents and water. Great pub! |
