Excellent Italian pizzas including several tempting vegetarian options. Beer selection is not too comprehensive, but the emphasis on local craft beers +Canadian special imports makes it possible to discover some gems anyway.

At the western end of Clerkenwell Road, this is mainly a pizza restaurant, but it has a decent selection of keg ales with notable craft brewers from the capital represented here, so you can marry food and a decent drink here. I was the only person in here on a Friday lunchtime. Bottles available too.

Handily placed Restaurant cum bar on the Clerkenwell Road close to the Bus Stops. Bright and open it has a warming / welcoming feel to it. Drinking only is welcomed with table service and a pretty reasonable keg and bottled beer list, certainly its easy to find some gems on there. The owners are Canadian and hope to be able to supply some unusual beers from there in the future. Added to the must visit list when round the corner at The Craft Beer Co. Give it a try.

We ate and drank at the Wedge Issue on Thursday 17th March 2016. The we being me, Dad and Barry who spent the afternoon and evening in London Kings Cross and Clerkenwell area prior to catching up a train up to Edinburgh on Friday 18th.

It is easy to find and well located on a corner at 91-95 Clerkenwell Rd, it is literally within spitting distance of Craft Clerkenwell and 2-3 minutes in the opposite direction will get you to BottleDog. Me and Loz had been here before with Jackie and Simon when it was an Italian restaurant (it also did good pizzas then). There is seating downstairs looking out onto the street or you can sit upstairs (we did).

The menu as I recall is just pizza and it was very reasonable, I think they topped out at £8.50 and there was a good choice, I seem to recall that they were named after areas of London. The female staff member serving us was good fun, she was from Granada in Spain as I recall, anyway she actually just came and plonked herself on our table and chatted for a few minutes whilst taking our order, she was really likeable.

Anyway onto the beers, I was genuinely shocked at how good the list was. Look at this list - In bottle two beers from Canopy, three beers from Pressure Drop, one from East London, three from Weird Beard, two Wild Card, two large bottles from Rogue, a cider from Hoxton Cidersmiths and a mead from Gossnells and then on tap one each from Anspach and Hobday, Pressure Drop and Hiver. I am unsure whether you can come here just for a beer but even if not the pizzas are decent and inexpensive and with great beer likely that and even better beers around the corner this is a great food stop with a good beer list. The prices were fair but best of all I saw a board outside saying beers half price between 3-6pm.
