74 In the same industrial park as reaver Beach, it's a great 2 for 1 visit. Same industrial park as Reaver Beach, garage door with seating inside and out. A little bit more modern here, and their artwork is top notch. Roaring jets overhead added to the vibe. |
46 Stopped in on Sept 11th. Seemed like the right place to be. Place was nice. Very big with almost everyone at the bar. Beer was, sadly, not very good. Bartender was forgetful and 'shellshocked' |
72 First stop of the evening. A bit out of the way, but clearly some money in this operation. Decent amount of parking. Large seating area with long communal tables. Small bar. Flights of 6 available, served in this welded metal flight tray that is kinda cool. Very good service overall. Military discounts means that there is a strong military presence herein. They were closing at six the day i was there for a private event, but doing a pretty good business leading up to that. No food that I was aware of. Beer quality was not so great, average to bad across the six I sampled. |
84 In an industrial area, and somewhat new to the game. Small bar that’s a bit cramped, and nice sized interior seating area, hopefully when they do outdoor events things aren’t as cramped. Military vibe, obviously, with a few regular old timers sitting at the bar, I assume frequently. Service was great, one of the owner’s and his wife were the one’s pouring the beer. A solid selection, but out of few cores when I was there. Food trucks directly out front on the regular, average market prices on beer. Really cool place with decent vibe, and within spitting distance of a couple other places. |
42 Nothing special. Beers are bland or unremarkable. |
56 Small tap room with bigger spot to sit. Interior had nice touches but overall still very industrial. Service was ok, maybe a bit uninterested in serving. I was the only there and would not bother to chat, Beers were solid with nice IPAs. They bad half flights as they only had 3 / 6 on tap (high demand). |
72 Went for the Bravo Foxtrot release. Very crowded but it thinned out. The staff was up to the task and kept everything moving. Cozy drinking spot that would have been cozier minus the crowd. Only had the Jet Noise and Big Red Rye but liked them both a lot. Will definitely go back to try the rest. |
74 This was a stop after the Polar Plunge at the beach. This is small brewery with 3 barrel fermenters. The place was packed. Some of it was overflow from the Beach brewing grand opening. They ran out of glasses for the flights. We sat at a table and enjoyed a spirited discussion about beer making and beer styles. This was a place worth visiting. |
62 Stopped by today. As noted by others, just a short distance from Beach Brewing. The tasting room is larger though, and somewhat more open. Only 4 of 6 beers available, but good to see another brewer available in the area. Best of luck! |
46 Stopped in at the opening hour on a Saturday. Literally 200 yds away from Beach Brewing, this helps make a little brewery-focused diversion to the Va Beach suburbs around Oceana worth the drive. YVBC has a small tasting lounge and a local pizza place was bringing in some pies. They only had 4 of their 6 beers on tap the day we visited. None were bad, none were noteworthy, either. I’d say Beach has the angle on more notable stuff so far. The staff/owners were friendly enough I suppose, but I expect more over the top hospitality for a new place like this. They seemed to expect your attention. And the prices were a bit high, particularly for the very small flights. That said, I’ll try their stuff some more as they mature and wish them great luck.
