COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fancy yourself as a bit of a brewer? Then enlist today in His Majesty’s Colonial Brewing Corp. It’s damned thirsty work for the smashing chaps of the Earth’s Armed Forces. Spending your days up to your danglies in mud and razor wire, bringing a bit of civilizing influence to those ugly Venusian brutes can leave a chap parched. That’s where the Brewing Corp comes in. How’s your average tommy meant to go over the top if he hasn’t had a bloody good pint or two of warm bitter to get his ardor up! It’s brewing at the pointy end. Slogging up and down the mounts of Venus really takes it out of a chap. After a long day at it, his Lordship needs a special something to steady the legs. Drawn straight from his Lordships' own private reserve, this special batch of Cockswain's Porter has been brewed extra strong and aged in freshly emptied oak bourbon barrels for 18 months. The result is a powerful mahogany dark porter, redolent of bourbon, vanilla and raisins. Definitely not a tipple for the faint of heart, but then Lord Cockswain never could stand those 'soft types'. Enjoy Courage straight from the barrel - just the way Lord Cockswain likes it.

pictoman (3080) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2021 Poured from 650mL bottle (bottled December 2017). Dark brown with light beige head. Raisin, bourbon, vanilla, a little thin. Definitely overrated.

beerplace (6389) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2021 650ml on Phill's deck. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: lots of barrels, some apples. Taste: along the same lines, lots of barrel, quite thin for 12.8%. Overall: pretty good.

mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 22, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2021 650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Nose is full of dark dried fruits and oak barrels. Flavour is quite boozy, with intense bourbon, oak, booze, and dark dried fruits. That’s a lot of booze, without much of a body. This is way overrated—how is this 100-100 (at the time of rating)? Good but nothing more.

Rune (21325) - Tromso, NORWAY - JAN 19, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2020 Big bottle kindly shared by Finn. Small sized beige head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Dark brown body with ruby, shades. Inviting smell of vanilla oak and chocolate. Similar taste profile of oak, vanilla and chocolate biscuit, warming bourbon towards a lingering finish, slightly roasted. Well bodied slow sipper. (Tromsø 18.01.2020).

Finn (14467) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 19, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2020 Delt med MrSoul og Rune. Svarrt. Middels høyt mokkafarget tett skum som daler sakte. Lett bourbonaroma. Smaken litt lakris - men whiskypreget dominerer. Etterhvert kommer det fram litt eik & vanilje. Tørr alkoholpreget avslutning.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2019 Coconut on the nose. Lots of flavors, mixing fruits, a touch of sourness with a fair punch of bitterness.

dougratesbeer (154) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 7, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2019 Poured cola coloured with a beige foam. Aroma is mild soy and dried fruits. Taste is vanilla, toffee, coconut. Perfectly balanced - an exceptional beer.

Hop_Hedonist (1078) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 22, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2019 Crikey this is huge - the aroma didn’t prepare me for the palate slamming, head banging explosion of flavour - almost too much... bourbon and coke on steroids. I admire it but struggled to get through half a bottle as it’s so big and boozy - luckily I shared the bottle. I guess the barley wine freaks will go for this big time.

BitterChalice25 (259) - - JUL 4, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 7, 2019 Deep and complex aroma of raisin, coffee and oak. Taste is complex and rich, but not over powering.
