COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gradual Descent is our take on a rustic kellerbier. We brewed this 5.2% lager with Virginia Pils and Rye malts from Charlottesville’s Murphy & Rude, plus Bestmalz’s Vienna and Spelt malts. That multigrain medley, given an extended boil, imbues the beer with a fuller body, a slight haze, and aromatics of freshly baked dough. These characteristics are complimented by late additions of Saphir, a newer-school German varietal that lends Gradual Descent citrus and floral qualities. It’s a young lager, unlike anything we’ve made before, and one best enjoyed fresh.
