COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
WARNING: Contrary to what you might be thinking, the contents within this bottle are not the same as deliciously drinkable IPA we released under this label in 2009. It’s a "vintage" thing. This year’s model uses a base of English malt to give the beer a deep red hue and rich malty base, while a combination of UK and US hops lend a dazzling flavour and cracking bite. Lovingly brewed, conditioned to optimum ripeness, and bottled by our friends at Invercargill Brewery. Enjoy this beer, and all other great craft beer, in appreciation and moderation.

750ml bottle. A deep hazy caramel colour with a light sand coloured head that is full but settles quickly. The aroma is all butterscotch and caramel fudge, strong and sweet. Full in the mouth with warming chewy caramel malt flavour and a long lasting aftertaste that stays with you for a while. The flavour is full on and this is one seriously good beer and well worth the $25.00. Finishes with a tarty bite and hops and malt flavour goes on and on. Simple yet elegant black and white label.

Bottle. Pours a dark copper with small cream coloured head. Lots of malt coming through in the nose dominated by sweet caramel. Some light sweet citrus in supportas the beer warms a little. Flavours are very full and sweet. Lingering toffee sweetness on the finish.

Excellent malt-driven beer, definitely English in heritage. Slight sweetness, balanced with hints of bitter orange marmalade. Long finish.

Caramel and pepper aroma with a suggestion of citrus. Like a thick slab of toffee thats been judiciously spiced from the pepper grinder and then left in an orange grove for a while. Autumn auburn in the glass - nice slightly off white head that persists with some legs down the side of my pint glass. Some toasted malt notes to taste with the same peppery spice and orange. Reminds me a little bit of a decent marmalade, probably from Dundee, or with some Dundee heritage going on. Certainly a Scottish marmalade. There’s a nice oily mouthfeel to the finish and a faint viscosity. So, i had this one when it came out and wasn’t a huge fan, but 4 months later I’m really enjoying this one. Fresh isn’t best it would seem

An awesome suped up ESB. Pours an awesome copper amber with a thick white head. A gloriously intergrated fruity aroma of citrus esters, tangy and piny hop and caramel malt gives way to a fruity rounded palate with some nice malt complexity and a firm lasting bitter finish. All and all a much more interesting proposition than last years vintage.

Delicious! Deep copper hue with caramel, nutty and slight espresso malty notes cut against by clean hop bitterness.
