Three Lions

They wear it well. They start outside with the multiple flags of the UK nations, some shingle siding on the eave, a sandwich board with a Union Jack. They’re right next door to the British Pantry; in fact, they share a common door. It’s a little expatriate outpost happening here. You walk in and it feels more or less like a lot of bars you’ve been to, but the touches give it that UK feel. The wingback chairs aren’t a common theme for a lot of places, and the louvered shutters on the window give it a cave-like feel that’s appropriate. There are highboys and plenty of tables. There’s a full bar and lots of dark wood. Put it all together and you feel like, British or not, you’re in a place that’s true to itself, all of a piece, and ready to welcome you for a friendly pint and some homey cooking. And some footie on the tellie, if anything’s live at the moment. They do show American sports too. No shortage of flat screen here. Service is friendly, and they make an effort at offering a good mix of imported UK beers and domestic offerings in sessionable styles not unfamiliar to the drinking Briton. The menu is what sets this place’s feet firmly in Greenwich Mean Time, though. Pasties, chips, fish, a stilton burger, beef and kidney pie. All worth a bite for sure. All reasonably priced. Even more reasonable at happy hour. I will absolutely be back for more.

A true neighborhood pub. Comfortable and inviting, the tap list is fairly short however full of Imports and dotted with a few locals. They’ve got setanta on the television so that means AFL, Rugby, Cricket, and Football (soccer) all the time, 24-7. You can find a few local taps as well as a very good selection of English beer and select bottles. You could find Old Speckled Hen, Fuller’s ESB, London Porter, and a rotating such as Bluebird Bitter amongst others. The food is quite excellent and I highly recommend the basket of fresh potato chips and the fish and chips are first rate. Friday and Saturday they have big slabs of prime rib at an affordable cost. Well worth a visit.

nice Engllish-ish pub in a strip mall. Great selection of real English beers. They have "footie on the telly" and the food is actually quite good. Entertaining local crowd as it should be in a real pub. Very fun place.

Can’t believe this place wasn’t in the RateBeer database already. Three Lions is a very authentic English pub, complete with a couple different soccer games on the telly’s at any time. It’s actually three different contiguous venues in one building - Three Lions Pub, Neville’s Restaurant, and British Pantry Deli and Bakery. Great English pub food selection with excellent fish and chips. My favorite is the steak and kidney pie. Authentic Ploughman’s lunch, wonderful toffee pudding with rich custard sauce, and mini pies (strawberry-rhubarb tonight). Ten or so draft beer selections are biased toward the English side, and you can get Old Speckled Hen (20 oz.) anytime. Guest (a.k.a. American) beers included Dogfish 90 when I was there last. Another 20 bottles with some good Belgians along with expected English beers. Good selection of single malt Scotch, not much in the way of wine. Bartenders were very knowledgeable; servers ran the gamut from great English ladies to local college students. This is a cute little British enclave in downtown Redmond. You can walk across the street to the excellent Tropea if you need great Italian food and wine. Highly recommended.
