Planet Wine

Nice small selection of decent craft beers, about on par with other small markets around such as Grape & Bean or the selection at a Red Apron location. Wine selection is bigger. Hours are a little limited, or at least were last time I stopped by. Attached to Evening Star, another NRG property.

Overall, a decent yet small shop in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria. The beer selection is smaller than their wine selection, but the variety is good. There seems to be no real focus, other than a few more VA, DC, and MD brews than others. The service was friendly and helpful. The prices are average for the DC metro area.

Owned by NRG, the same group that owns Churchkey, Rustico, etc. they do the wine and beer for the Evening Star Cafe next door. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Beer list is fairly small but solid, heavy on the local and regional stuff, including beers from DC. Prices cheaper than anywhere else in the neighborhood by a large margin.
