Incredibly good beer selection for Ukraine, international crafts (Firestone Walker, Saugatuck, Uiltje, all Trappist breweries, many Belgians, UK stouts, German micro-lagers, French ciders and many more) as well as rare Ukrainian brews.

Visited two stores - the one in the basement of the Gulliver shopping mall and the one on Kazymyra Malevycha St. Both great. The Gulliver store has a (relatively, for Ukraine) huge range of local and international beer. Great place to pick up stuff from Varvar, Pravda etc. and quite reasonably priced. Some very interesting international stuff too including stuff from the US I've never seen on sale in the UK. The other store I visited also had a great range of local stuff and a decent amount of Belgian and German stuff in particular. It's a great store for picking up some nice foody bits too as well as regular groceries, definitely towards the high end (particularly the Gulliver store)

Great supermarket with a nice selection of Ukrainian craft - mainly Varvar, Underwood and Pravda. Various international brews too (although I couldn’t care less at the time, I was there to drink local), some German stuff, some Belgians, and some Americans. Usual Ukrainian macros are available too.

Rating the Gulliver basement one. Massive selection of Trappists (even 3 of the Spencer ones), basic lambic (Boon), Orval, loads of German, Brittish and of course Ukrainian. Some Varvar, Pravda etc in fridges + a bunch more on shelfs. Steep pricing for Ukraine, but I guess you always pay a premium in these kind of stores.

Excellent selection of imported beers. You may find on the shelves (at select stores) 10 of 12 trappist breweries beers.

Visited a few stores in this chain. I found them to quite different as far as beer selection go. Regular ones offer a reasonable selection of Ukrainian industrial beers, a few German beers like Maisel, regular mass Belgian beer etc. that you will find elsewhere. These are decent, also pretty reasonable, vodka & wine selection. The one that I found to be really interesting is the one that is located in the basement of Gulliver shopping complex near Палац спорту Metro station, now that one blew me away. Located where old Dollar store used to be shortly after Ukraine gained rightful independence. Back then the select few used to be able to buy there luxury goods unavailable anywhere else using the virtually non-existing dollar currently only. It was like a magical kingdom for the select few. This location still carries that feeling, prices are high but selection is astonishing. Unlike below post states, they do sell hygiene items, household items etc. Prices are high, selection is out of the world, I saw some fruits new to me (they looked a bit old, expensive very far imports yeah), really high class, privileged selection. Excellent candy, western food, sushi etc. I was blown away & this place was clearly way & way out of my social class. Wine selection is massively impression, Georgian wine selection is more than impressive. Great selection translates into beer & cider. I found 2 Dupont cider’s. Ukrainian beer selection is industrial and smaller than elsewhere (no Ukrainian specialty beer – a real missed opportunity in my opinion). Instead you get German stuff like Schneider & Schenkerla here, some USA imports like Lakefront & Saugatuck, Belgian beers like Orval & Boon. Some boring English beers. You can find some interesting imports here for sure. Really nice surprise for me. Adored the store itself, shopping here regularly would be a costly affair. In the middle of the store, there is a place to eat there sushi, German cuisine, cake, tea, Ukrainian food etc. lots of youngsters from clearly rich families. I ate a pretty nice Falafel there (fun fact Falafel is often made with green peas instead of chickpeas in Ukraine). Also visited another store that had some Uerige but the prices were way too high in my opinion.

A Ukrainian brand of supermarkets. Pretty standard, except for the beer aisle. A very decent selection (especially for Kiev) with decent prices - internationals, Belgian, German, etc. Sadly no local brews beside the macros. Still, probably the best selection in town.

I’ve been here several times now. If I carry my woven cotten Mexican shoulder bag with my and linger too long in the beer shelves, I always end up with 1 - 3 staff hovering nearby. They have a currency exchange that is reasonable, if not exactly talkative/ happy to see you. The produce (bag your own, don’t tie it closed, and make sure your stuff is plainly obvious which one it is (ie I saw the large avacados and the smaller ones; I picked two of the large and they were the two largest, but one didn’t have a tag on it. So the produce pricing lady refused to allow me to buy any avacados at all.) I advise to buy fish, meat, or cheese from the cases where staff must assist when the lines aren’t long so the staff doesn’t get pissed at your lack of local language skills. That said they do have a great selection of those products as well as some pre-packed of that stuff. Good bread dept too. Liquor as well and some canned goods. They aren’t like USA supermarkets as they don’t have personal hygiene stuff and a number of other things that they sell in other kinds of stores. You have to pay for your plastic carry out bag should you need one, but they are sturdy. Beer selection is the best I’ve seen here in Ukraine so far - lots of locals, other European, and a couple of nods to the giant gringo brews. I’m looking forward to another purchase there. And I’ll try to make sure I’ll be game ready!
