I guess I never rated this place when I first visited. It’s a good stop during Ohio Beer Week, when a few breweries take over the taps and offer unique stuff (it’s been Willoughby for a few years, which is a nice get for them). Otherwise, when school is in, the kids’ tastes tend to dominate and cheap macros are the leads. There are still some occasional good taps and bottles to be found. And it’s a pretty typical sports bar overall. Big, spacious, crowded during events, not particularly clean, simple food offerings, lots of college-aged employees, and neons for decorations.

(Visited 06/2013 during Ohio Brew Week): Pigskin Bar is located on North Court. Metered street and garage parking is nearby.

The inside is laid out like a typical sports bar. The bar is on the left side past the entrance, and there is table and booth seating past that as well as on the right. Brick interior and wooden floors.

The beer selection during OBW consisted of several Willoughby beers including 2 casks (Gutterpup with cacao and double dry-hopped Little Dipper). Samples were available but I don’t know if that is the norm outside of OBW.

Service was pretty good during our visit. The server was efficient with the samples and food order, but didn’t display much knowledge or interest about the beer. No biggie.

Food on our visit consisted of pulled pork sandwiches which were tasty.

Overall, as with many other stops during the week I would probably not bother stopping at this place outside OBW, but would visit again if they were featuring Ohio beers.

On street parking, in the middle of court street. This place was renovated about a year and a half ago and is now open concept. Table tennis up front, still hand stamps at the door. Had a couple different brews during Ohio Brew Week. Service was good even though they were busy (probably 40 people in the place) and prices were reasonable. A big plus was the sample glasses of beer during Ohio Brew Week.

Stopped in during Ohio Brew Week. Street Parking only. Showed up around noon on a Saturday and was able to walk up to the bar and grab a seat. Not crowded at all, though there were probably 15 to 20 patrons. This place is predominantly a sports bar. They had their taps full of craft, though. I got to try samples of several Willoughby beers, including a couple outstanding surprises from them. Service was good, one member of the staff seemed knowledgeable. Pricing was fair at $2 per sample. To go when it isn’t OBW, would probably lend a different review.
