72 Big open place. Lots of outdoor space. In a sort of shopping area, not the prettiest but a fun place. The food looked good but I didn’t eat. The beer was mostly old school 1990s pale types. The darker beers were solid. Had 12 of their own taps, ten were on. Also, some good guest taps. All in all, a fun place worth visiting. |
50 A brewery and taproom with a half-dozen house beers and an equal number of guest lines. Large open space interior with breweriana and televisions. Beer quality was average to poor with a porter being especially balsamic and sour. Glassware comes frosted straight out of the fridge, which is odd given the location: we’re in the heart of Oregon wine country, so you would think that the drinking culture out here would be long over the idea of frosted glasses. Chehalem Valley is not a place to seek out, and really isn’t worth much time passing through Newberg. If you do decide to stop, cross your fingers that the beer quality is better than my visit, or you may be paying more attention to the guest taps. And try not to ask detailed or technical questions. |
