82 My rating could be a little low for this place since i have only been there once and it was during a big beer event. Cool and unique layout-lots of shelves with well organized beer styles. Huge cooler with cold take-home bottles/cans. There is a little tap room in the back of the building with 10 or so taps for sampling on site or growler fills. Service was pretty friendly and prompt. I will revisit this place on a "normal" day. |
90 I'm genuinely confused. I've been here every weekend I've visited STL since they've been open. Can't believe I didn't rate it. Anyway, here I go. This place is tucked in a block-long retail strip on the northwestern side of downtown Clayton. There's a bar in back, behind all the shelves and coolers of bottles. 10 taps, I think, and always some compelling stuff. The bottle selection is great. Everything (except mixed packs) is available in singles, which is key to me. There's a constantly rotating availability of local and regional stuff, and some labels I don't see many other places. Great service every time. Prices are good, completely fair. They don't have the best online presence and are spotty with social media, but otherwise this is pretty close to my ideal beer store, and it's become my go-to shop in STL. |
90 Great spot West of St. Louis in Clayton. 10 taps of heat. Wonderful decor, simple, clean and packed to the gills with good beer. Anything can be pulled as a single bottle or can (from the coolers or on the floor). Prices super competitive, even cheap compared with Kentucky and Nashville. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great place to pick up local Missouri beers alongside a great selection of Belgian beer and other quality out-of-state breweries like Prairie, Odell, Stone, DFH, and Evil Twin. Tons of Mikkeller as well. Must stop in St. Louis! |
74 Interesting beer store. Decent selection, has beers organized very well. 5 taps available. Prices seemed decent. Service was friendly. Parking was a bit of an issue. Worth a look. |
82 If you haven’t been here, you must go. They have rare, high ABV beers on tap, so you can drink beer while you are shopping for beer. They will even hold off on charging you for your draft until you finish your purchase so you don’t have to pay twice. The beer is organized by style and they have different racks for different styles. You can make a mix-a-six out of any beer in the store that is sold in 12 oz. bottles. Service is attentive; they tell you about beers that are cheaper than they could be, not just what they want you to buy. Great place; I’m going back soon. |
66 Maybe I am just spoiled, and since the wine and cheese shop was closed I have no comparator, but I was not impressed with the selection here. Another one of those places with a bunch of center islands full of unrefrigerated beer, poorly organized in general. It is pretty cool that they have a small tasting bar though. |
74 Stopped in a Saturday evening, so there is free parking right in front of the store. As soon as we walked in, there was someone to greet us and said if you need any help, let us know. Decent selection, I picked from the single bottles to build a sixer. They had four taps going, had tried them all, so passed for now. Decent cooler selection as well. We signed up for their mailing list, hopefully will let us know when new releases arrive. Will visit again when in the area. |
78 Great service. Beer selection is good. Not outstanding, but the place just opened. Discounts available if you sign up for their mailing list. A couple of taps, but nothing exciting when I was there. |
76 In a very nice area with lots of parking. Big with a real focus on craft beer. We were there when they first opened and the selection was good not great. Same with the taps. Prices are on the high side compared to the larger shops, but discounts are available on 12 or more. Decent and may improve with some time. Service was really good and knowledgeable. |
