74 I always feel comfortable in these big American-style sports bars. The beer is average but drinkable with some variety. Food pushed no boundaries but is perfectly acceptable. Good place to have a couple of pints and watch the passing parade. |
76 Great place in the heart of Perth, surrounded by more nightclub bars. Inside and outside sitting overviewing a small place. Good for people watching while enjoying a good beer. Good beers on tap, really enjoyed their interpratation of a saison. |
76 Easy to find. They all way have a special brew every week worth to ask. |
80 Schöner Brewpub in Northbridge-perth. Das Essen ist spitze! Wir hatten "Nose to Tail" Wiche vom Schwein. Die Bierauswahl ist sehr gut. Ca 10 Biere vom Fass und viele Flaschenbiere. Hingehen! |
62 Underwhelming selection despite the sheer immensity of this location. Four brewery taps and some regionals. Mass market sports bar atmosphere. |
70 Located right in the heart of Perth! Most of the beer appears to be brewed for the masses, some lagers and lightly flavoured ales.
I’m glad i came back to check this place out a second time because recently Ken (the iconic brewer) has decided to think a little outside the square and brew an amazing American style IPA. They have also stocked the fridge full with a decent range of bottled craft beers to suit most taste. This place really could end up being the craft beer hub in center of Perth. I’m looking forward to going back to try many more seasonal’s. |
48 A mass market offering and nothing more. On the plus side great location in the middle of Northbridge and very good outdoors seating. Food looked quite good albeit at Perth prices (but visually very appealing). But, and this is a big but, there appears to be no genuine passion around the beers, The 4 house beers are very pedestrian and the bottle list is classic faux craft (and badly priced). Maybe $3 pb over a reasonable price in Melbourne. Hop Hog the best of the guest taps. |
58 Well, for the old haunt of my youth Northbridge and alongside the ’what the hell is that still doing there!?’ Mustang bar is this new complex that passed off as a great hideaway on the rainy day I visited - AFL grand final 2014. Nooky, nudgy, a bit pokey and a bit in your face with other punters it was with the outdoor area not accessible. It opened up though and breathed when the rain cleared. Industrial look but tight and tidy with well finished, polished timber bar and fittings, and stainless steel pretty much everything else. I liked it. It was a pub bar like all others in Perth - all look the same - but this seemed to pull it off. Beer selection was poor to adequate, but given Perth’s drought of craft beer it seemed to float. Slick, fast, easy menu for the chefs - decent for the patrons. House brews are unfortunately what I expected of a brewer of Emu Bitter fame, but hey, did the job. Overall a venue with promise. See what comes!!! |
