Cigar City Cider and Mead

In a real cool neighbourhood, parking is tough, but we found a parkade a block away for $1/hour. Unfortunately, Cigar City has no house meads on tap when we visited - a huge bummer. They did have lots of ciders on tap. We ordered a flight of 4 for $8, a decent deal. But the cider quality was so poor - honestly, but they tasted like cheap, sweet, industrial faux-ciders that the masses drink. Really, really poor quality. Service was good. I wish I could’ve tasted some of the higher rates meads, but the ciders were really poor.

Post Hunahpu's day ... passed by and talked everyone into stopping by. They didn't seem that busy, but took forever for the 1 dude behind the bar to serve us. Ciders, meads and beers all served in sampler / flight sizes to boot. Nice selection, but that service on a slow Sunday ...

Great addition to the Tampa Bay craft beer scene. This place has an entire wall of meads and ciders to choose from with small pour options available. Service is very attentive and can talk beer, cider, and mead pretty readily. Bottles are available to go and some ciders are growlerable. Nice space, good people, near Coppertail and Tampa Bay Brewing Ybor, always worth a stop.

Definitely a cool idea, and I kind of like that it’s separate from the brewery. Open warehouse sort of feel with a number of their tanks across from the bar. Plenty of space to hangout and drink.

They had ten ciders and eight meads available during my visit, and a number of beers on, too (all guest/non-Cigar City). Prices are pretty decent. The mead pours are $5 each and the ciders are $2 each (for taster sized pours). Not that $1/ounce is cheap, but it’s pretty decent for what meads usually cost.

Really good service and a (small) friendly crowd at the bar. Unfortunately I wasn’t a huge fan of a lot of the things they had, but it was a fun enough experience.

Nestled in what once used to house the TBBC. Nice open space, modern location with enough meads and ciders to go out. Atmosphere was quaint and the fact that no TV screen is blasting in your ears is a definite plus. Not sure how the place goes when you have to deal with the weekly Friday night Ybor crowd but I’ve learned to avoid Ybor during those nights. Friendly and efficient service. Would just be nice to be able to buy bottles to go but knowing CCB that’s likely to be in the works.

Very cool spot in Ybor. Open Warehouse feel with a few tables and 1 bar. They are still in the process of getting everything set up. Friendly service. We tried 1 mead and 1 cider. Very good, experimental, creative concepts.

Awesome location on Ybor City, 10 ciders and 5-7 meads. Selection is always changing and they have some great experiments. I only knock it because they aren't bottling the mead yet. Nikki is an awesome server!

Glad this place finally opened. Glad it's hear as a beer alternative!
