A small, underground beer bar with seating for around 20 people. A worn, industrial looking place with 10 taps of mixed Japanese and imported beers. Working Wi-Fi and friendly service. English is well spoken here. An awesome little bar and well worth the effort to get here. Once you get to basement 2F It’s quite easy to find.

This spot has a lot of potential but seems to be trending downward. It’s usually busy, which is more than I can say for Base, but the taps rotate less and less. Food is good and service is improving. Took them a while to fix some of the simple things like numbers for orders. With the price increasing to ¥1200 a pint I can’t see myself going here outside of events (¥1000/pint during events). If you’re looking for Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA this is your spot.

Perhaps harder to find underground near Osaka central station, this little alcove is an impressive craft beer bar with an interesting small plate/snack menu and about 12 or so craft beers on tap mostly from the US and a few from Japan during my quick visit. Ambiance feels like it could be in the US with familiar breweriana to me like Saint Archer and Pizza Port pint glasses. Bar seating and table seating. We tried 3-4 different beers here and they were served at correct temperature with correct glassware and with proper foam. Impressive. Quick keg rotation it seems as most of the beers are in smaller keg formats. Certainly recommended. Thanks to KyotoLefty for taking us here!

Enjoyed this place. Nice friendly staff, nice mix of taps (although maybe could do with one less US tap, personally speaking, but maybe I am overwhelmed by all that stuff in Kanto). Good prices. Weirdo idol izakaya place opposite was entertaining from a safe distance. Daytime opening! Great!

Interesting, lively bar in basement mall area of the old-school (I guess we might say "retro"-style) Umdea Ekimae 1 building. Completely open to the mall traffic area, with a few tables even extending out into the passageway. Seating for around 14 people at the bar, maybe 20 at tables, and 12 at small high standing tables. Eight taps, with a very good selection. The night I was there, four taps were Pizza Port brews (the remainder of a tap takeover event). Pints for Y1,000 and half pints for Y700. Pretty crowded and noisy on a Saturday night, with fairly large groups of raucous guys shouting and laughing. The very friendly owner was buzzing around, doing her thing: taking orders, delivering them, serving food, and talking with just about everyone. She even gave us a generous sample from a newly-tapped keg, although she knew that we were on our way out and probably would not be ordering any more. When my friend didn’t know his way back, she walked us all the way to the Nishi-Umeda station entrance, chatting all the way. I certainly enjoyed this place a whole lot more than Craft Beer Base.

Great dive bar located in a basement mall nearby Umeda station. Good tap selection including some japanese seasonals and solid Californian stuff. Good prices, Very friendly staff, speaks great English and responsible for the very handy "Osaka Craft Beer Map". The only downside is that it seems to get quite hot in there in early summer, but still would definitely be one of my locals if I lived in the area.

Located in the virtually empty sub-basement of the Osaka Dai-Ichi building this bar is a huge splash of energy that wouldn’t look out of place on a high street in the West. Wide and inviting the semi-industrial feel of wood, concrete & exposed ductwork is par for the course in the Japanese craft beer scene. Friendly staff on top of a madhouse opening with a tap list of 8 top knotch beers at 700 yen for a half and 1000 for a pint tax included. Good value and a fun place. The daytime opening hours guarantees I will be back to chill out in the afternoon for a beer with lunch. Unfortunately, they have suddenly decided not to serve lunch even though they open at 11:30AM which is just bizarre and results in the place being empty in the afternoons. The tapas style menu doesn’t work during the day - super lame... and they’ve now decided to open at 3PM on weekdays which considering they weren’t selling lunch is no surprise as while it is packed at night it’s quiet during the day.

Went for pre-opening, so this is provisional. Located in the 2nd basement of Umeda Ekimae 1, which is also a kind of thoroughfare between the Daimoru shopping mall and the various train stations in the area. Therefore convenient to several stations. Cozy place, simple and elegantly done up. 8 taps excellently chosen, with the idea to have 2 Japanese, 2 European, and 4 American beers at any time. ¥1000 US pint, ¥700 UK 1/2. Good prices. Food looked good. This looks to be a very cool place to either stop in for a quick pint, or to hang out for a while in the softer chairs in the back.
