76 A bit of a hike from train stations but a stylish modern building in a quiet side street. Great open plan decor, standing and sitting downstairs, spacious with tables upstairs. Plenty of locals dropping by on a late Sunday afternoon to grab bottles to go. About 8 taps operating, mostly year-rounds but a couple of seasonals on tap and bottles. One hand-pump too, decent low prices. Smiling service, kids ok, plenty of merch for sale. I’d go here all the time if I lived nearby. Go if in the area for falls or onsen. |
76 About 10 minutes' walk from Makiochi Station. They serve beer from early on, which is nice. Visited during the afternoon and many friends showed up. Very lively on a Saturday, with lots of windows to let in the winter sun. Great lineup of Minoh beers on tap including a couple I had not seen before, plus at least one rare barrel aged beer in the bottle. Prices very reasonable. Just wish they had a couple hand pumps here as the real ale versions of their beers are very nice but harder and harder to find lately. |
72 Finally made it to this lovely lively space with 10 taps (8 on at the moment) ranging in price from 520/570¥ a half to 830/880¥ a pint. Fairly large with a busy and fun 1st floor bar area (mostly standing) and a large 2nd floor seating area that seems to be used when it gets busy in the evenings. Popular with locals and ladies. Bottles are reasonably priced and it is a great place for Minoh Swag. Check it out after visiting Minoh Falls. |
