Johnny’s Off License Campo de’ Fiori

Small shop in a side street leading to Campo de' Fiori. I'd say about 100 beers were available during my visit, mostly stored in several fridges. There is a small bench outside where you can sit and enjoy your beer. Friendly service, had a chat with the owner and he was ready to recommend some good beers. In non pandemic times probably a better selection and more people hangs in front of the shop. Not many shops in this part of Rome so conveniently located.

This place is great if you’re in the main tourist area and craving something other that the peroni and nastro served in every restaurant. If you have a specific beer you’re looking for, even if this site shows them as having it, you’re likely to be out of luck. During the year I spent in Rome I went once a week, each time inquiring about Mango Split from Ritual Lab and was always ensured it would be there next time I arrived, this was never the case. This being said, they have a great selection for European beers that are fun to try, and for €6 on average, not terribly priced. The owner is helpful. Buy a cold one to go and walk to the Tiber to enjoy!

Tiny little shop with a solid if not huge selection. Owner and locals will happily guide you through the selection and of course a small seating area where you can crack open your beer and hang out. People are really nice and the local geeks hanging out will make you feel welcome. Prices are decent.

6 reviews prior to mine ... 5 @100 and 1 @ 24 ... fuck the lot of them to be honest ! Visited a couple of times in late September 2016 after a few afternoon scopes in Open Baladin. Solid bottle shop with a couple of keg taps for drinking in whilst browsing (or on the street) and a few hundred bottles. Largely from Italy but approx 30% from the rest of the world. Super friendly staff who speak good English and know their beers ... they also love doges here ! Prices pretty fair for central Roma. Great stop for some bottles to take away to the hotel room and a great location less than 5 minutes walk from Campo De Fiori, the Pantheon and Baladin.

Vastissima scelta di birre e grande competenza nella cornice stupenda del centro storico di Roma. Assolutamente da provare !!!!!

EN It really worths to cross the Tevere river and go to "Ma che siete venuti a fà". Very high quality craft beers instead of low quality selection of this new Off Licence. ITA Selezione scarna, solite birre che sono appetibili per chi non conosce nemmeno la differenza di base fra una saison e una ipa. Sembra che si voglia valorizzare solo il marchio e mantenere un livello qualitativo delle birre offerte mediocre. Non c’è per niente paragone con la selezione che c’era nel vecchio Off Licenze a Prati (a proposito perché ha chiuso???). Se proprio voglio bere bene, attraverso il Tevere e vado al "Macche siete venuti a fà".
