32 To get here, you have to leave the lovely old town and go north, where the ambiance is much less appealing. The Corvus tap room is corresponding to the surrounding, as the inside is small and chaotic, very much hospudka-like in the bad sense. In addition, the bald bartender was definitely the most unpleasant person I've come across in this charming city, incredibly dodgy guy. The beer garden is only marginally better than the bar, its main advantage being that it's really huge. Other than that, it looks bad. A concrete covered floor gives way to a weed-infested lawn with occasional dog poop. Old school heavy metal and punk rock blaring from the speakers. Long benches in abundance, lots of people, seems to be a really popular place with the locals. 20 taps, 16 of which serve their beer and guest beers, for a price ranging from 0,60 to 1,60 EUR per 300ml. That's a bargain, though the beer is still hardly worth it. The wit IPA was decent, that's all positive that I can say. Definitely not a must-visit when in town, unless they have managed to improve on virtually every level. |
62 The only Slovakian beers (7) were their own, the Chinook IPL was the best of three 300ml beers I had, the Red Fox and their (not-bursting-with-hops) IPA were ok. The other 10 beers are from Czech regional breweries. There is a main serving area and at least 2 drinking rooms. Not a bad place at all.

82 In process of installing brewery equipment, beer brewed off site at moment. Sprawling one story complex with splendid beer garden at rear. Basic wood paneled interior in beer house. Full range of Corvus beers, almost all very drinkable. |
