(Visited Aug 2019) Nice brewery taproom in the northern part of Amsterdam, around 100 meters from Oedipus on the way to/from the metro. Located in an industrial building, bar interior in brick, concrete and brown wood. Seating outside on the parking place as well. Ten (or so) taps with beers from the brewery. Some of them hard to find in other places. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Mainly inhabited by locals and beer geeks and not quite as crowded as Oedipus. Really nice taproom with a good selection of Walhalla beers. Added to my semiannual AMS beer crawl. Will be back.

We visited here Saturday 8th June 2019, the we being me, Loz, Bob and Claire (Bob was celebrating his 50th birthday in Amsterdam). Walhalla like Oedipus is located north of the t'IJ. As I mentioned in my review for Oedipus the best way to get here is to take the river taxi/ferry *You can use either but the one to Ijplein (if you time it right) whilst less frequent leaves a slightly shorter walk. It's about 15-20 minutes walk, once you are over this side. However if you go to Oedipus first then this is literally just around the corner, a 2-3 min stroll away. It's a smaller set up than Oedipus, there is some seating outside but as the weather was a rather mixed bag today we opted to sit inside. It's a rectangular shaped set up with the bar at the far end. The beer choice is listed above the bar and there is a fridge offering further choices to drink in or take away on the right hand side. We sat at a high table close to the bar. We stayed for a couple of beers, which I have to say were excellent. We really enjoyed it here, the clientele was mixed and the vibe was very friendly. I should have liked to stay here longer, however we had to head off to the south of the city for a Morroccan meal (which was fabulous). When we return to Amsterdam we'll definitely be back here, particularly as our hotel the Sir Adam was also on this side of the river and which was also fabulous. *Wish I'd have got some carry out beers now.

A MUST for the mature discerning drinker in Amsterdam. Located in an industrial quarter north of the IJ, this taproom is within 5 minutes walk of the Oedipus brewery, making for a good crawl. Visited on the warm, sunny afternoon of 22nd March 2019, to find just as many drinkers sitting outside as in the proeflokaal itself. A fine range of tapped beers are available, and a flight of 4 comes in an imaginative W-shaped holder. A full array of canned brews is also offered. A range of bar snacks are available, mostly cheese or sausage, with toasties prepared to order for those with a while to spend here. Staff were friendly, enthusiastic and fully conversant in English. I would easily have stayed a further hour were I not crawling to Oedipus afterwards!

Spartan and industrial, but a nice place to taste the Walhalla beers and some bottled guest brews like Toon van den Broek. Affordable prices, especially for Amsterdam. Friendly service. Flights are available. Not too far from the IJ ferry.

Cozy bar a 5 minute walk away from Oedipus, on the Northern side of the canal. In-and outside seating, 12 or so taps of their own beer, helpful and nice service. Cool place with a pleasant vibe, very much recommended.

Big fan of this brewery since it emerged in the Dutch brewing scene and it was nice to hear that their crowd-funded campaign to open a bar was successful. The location is ideal, accessible by biking or walking from the Centraal ferry, and will help solidify Noord's reputation as a beer destination. Industrial interior with images of the Gods lining the walls of the tasting room, which adjoins the brewery facility. Plenty of space and great outdoor seating. Nice selection of their own beers and a few guests in large tasters. Super friendly staff. Pinpas required. Food (gourmet tostis) are available (and I've heard they're excellent) though that will have to wait until my next visit, which will undoubtedly happen on my next trip to Holland. Highly recommend. Visited with Guy, Amanda, and Paul in 2018.

Nice little bar north of the river in what looks like an old car repair place. It is nicely decorated though and has a pleasant atmosphere inside and outside. They have their own beer selection and you can take tasters of several, but be aware that you can not pay with cash.

Visited during Carnivale Brettanomyces '18. Located in Amsterdam Noord, a short 10 minute walk from the ferry (be sure to get the right one), close to Oedipus, which makes it convenient for a combined visit. Looks like a converted garage, very high ceiling, not too big, lots of brick walls. Sparcely decorated but stylish and efficient. Large table in the center, small bar in the back. Fixed taster or 4 for €9, or you can order 15cl pours if you like as well. Pleasant atmosphere, some outside seating as well. Will certainly revisit.

Located in an industrial site with not much of a view, but! Inside the vibes are good, fun Walhalla branded interior and logo shaped tasting boards. Awesome. Haha! 15 cl pours for tasting is a big plus. Enjoyed all the beers I tried, the Walhalla beers are pleasant drinkers straight from the source. Enough seating inside and outside. Bit desolate area, but together with Oedipus the North now definitely has more attraction!
